Really wanted to love this as I was so excited to get there (and drove 40 mins to it) but unfortunately my experience wasn't all that great. The pain au chocolate and their hot chocolate were really yummy and the black young lady who took my order was super nice, polite and informative however my issue is with the guy who went around telling people they only have 45 minutes for seating. This is understandable however when I finally did snag a seat I was there for ten minutes tops, when I initially went in, none were available so I went in the actual store and shopped around. After getting my purchase I came back to the coffee shop and ordered and snagged the last seat in the back corner. Maybe 8 minutes in, a white woman who seemed to be a regular as she hugged that worker came in flustered. She went around asking everyone if they'll be getting up soon..and acted very entitled. She even asked a man if she could sit next to him and he replied that his wife was in the line. She then took the seat beside him at the table and said she's just going to put her jacket there for a bit. She told the worker who she was familiar with that she wanted a seat and he then went around to tell everyone of the time limit. Me being there for about 10 minutes now (who drove 40 to get there) on top of it being my very first time to Ralphs was disappointed in how he handled it. I was the only person there the least amount of time as I met everyone there already seated. But he seemed to keep coming to me to badger me if Im ordering anything else to try to get me to leave. I was going to order again to take to go and also get merch but me being the black girl that got bothered to leave while being there the shortest amount of time just to suit that old white woman didn't sit right with me. So kinda disappointed in that. Other than that, the store is very lovely and the food and hot chocolate were...
Read moreI’ve been going to Ralph’s since it opened. Yesterday, it was 5:30 when I stepped in for an affogato expresso and was told we don’t have anymore expresso, so I ordered ice cream instead, then with an attitude, I was told I could not seat down because they were closing. I asked, what time do you close? The cashier said, 5:30. I know they close at 6 o’clock. I saw two ladies ordering coffee and they went to sit down, so I decided to sit down and enjoy my ice cream. The manager came over to me and with an attitude said, you have to leave because we are closing. I could not believe that the two ladies remained and I was kicked out. I left thinking that those two ladies that remained had left also. I started to walk down the block towards the end and decide to walk back to see , if the two ladies were still there and not only they were there they also had the door open. I was disgusted by the way I was mistreated for no reason. I saw the manager and told her that I was kicked out, while the two ladies were still having their coffee. She responded that it was only two minutes and they were going to leave, but I was asked to leave, while it was ten minutes and still they were there. I think Ralph’s should consider their loyal customers and not the employees or a manager, which doesn’t take her job seriously and is irresponsible for her actions. I also shop at Ralph’s and have spent a numerous about of money. I did not deserve to...
Read moreFinding a great espresso drink on Long Island is a tough task, especially if you are visiting from Brooklyn, where there is a plethora of great espresso cafes that wouldn’t think of using a bean that was roasted more than a week ago (roasted, not ground). The odd thing is that the baked goods are stored in plastic tubs, (in a Ralph Lauren store?) but no worries, it’s fresh from the local bakery nearby and I’ve had a great croissant in addition to a great tasting blueberry muffin regardless. In a land of Dunkin’ donuts, Starbucks, and delicatessens that serve barely acceptable coffee, Ralph’s can match what you can expect at a hipster coffee shop in Williamsburg Brooklyn, and that’s a good thing. It’s part of the Ralph Lauren designer shop in the Americana Manhasset Mall (back of store). I’m not a fan of designer clothes shops, nor being surrounded by cars that could be traded in for a nice size house in the catskills, but if you want a great cappuccino, Latte or any other espresso drink in this neck of the woods (actually, all of Nassau county), then stop by Ralph’s. Oh yeah, about the rude employee reviews here? They were pleasant to me the last 3 times I visited, but I imagine the attitude of a good deal of customers that come here (remember, it’s Manhasset) can probably easily rival an employee that may have been a bit cranky (probably after being insulted by a...
