Horrible customer service that ended with me having to explain to my crying kid why this large male had forced me to give him the pizza back. I didn’t bring cash, so they asked me to use the website to purchase a pie. I did and paid through credit card. I got an alert with the receipt for my order. I showed it to the manager. But he said he hadn’t received payment. We waited.ñ for it to process. Mind you, I had a crying baby and a whining 4 year old wondering what was taking so long. Time passed and I asked to check again. Nothing. He called “the company” (I’m assuming the credit card merchant company). And they said they haven’t gotten paid. But I had the alert and receipt from Slice Life. I said we’d be leaving in 5 minutes without the pizza and would just call Amex to cancel/ so in 3 minutes he gave me the pizza and collected my number and name in case there was an issue. I walked out. But at this point the baby was hysterical, so I had to feed him outside the car. He then came over to my car and accosted me to give him the pizza. But I said I had a receipt that I paid for it. It was so upsetting to my four year old and the baby was crying that I finally did just give it to him. So I called Amex. And the issue (as I told him) was on their end. It’s the merchant’s responsibility to close out their transactions. When they do it will go through. Mind you, it says it went through already just an hour later. I’ll be reporting the merchant and Salvatore’s to Amex for this. I could not for the life of me understand why we got treated so horribly. I hope the owner sees this and changes their practices...
Read moreHad one of my first dates here with my wonderful girlfriend who is now my wife. We Love Pizza, we've tried the pizza in New Haven Connecticut which is fantastic, and other places. I realize there's a lot of excellent pizza places. This place remains one of our favorites. We usually get a large pie and add pepperoni. You have to add it to the whole pie because if you add it to just half they will charge you the same. That being said the sauce and cheese are amazing. The pizza is of a soft texture which I love. Ingredients taste top notch and The pie is always on point perfect. The beer is served in a frosted mug which we love. Again I realize everybody has a favorite place... Whether it's pizza or Thai etc but I strongly recommend you try this place. It's got a great location in Port Washington near the water The place is cozy. ** I have to mention...
Read moreIt's bizarre to say this about pizza, but it wasn't salty enough. The fresh mozzarella is a nice touch and lends well to the thinness of the crust. But the tomato sauce is too sweet. If they salted the sauce properly and didn't add sugar, it would balance the pizza far better. I have to say, I'm basically a pizza connoisseur, I'm like Mona the Mechanic from "My Cousin Vinny" but for pizza. This pizza was a let down for Long Island's caliber. For the in-your-face audacity of the sign that reads "Cash Only. No Credit Cards. No Cry Babies." as you walk in, I hoped that their food would stand up to that rudeness and willingness to turn people away hoping to pay with credit. But it did not. I would not recommend. There are better coal-fired joints on LI and with the bountifulness of pizzerias on LI, it's worth it to...
