Highly recommend Jia, really delicious food!
Did dinner for 4 and shared all of the dishes, definitely suggest this so you can try as many options as possible.
Dim Sum: Taro wrapped shrimp: this was good, nice and crispy, wasabi Mayo wasn’t super spicy but added good flavor. Taro was warm and delicious. Wouldn’t prioritize when going back again, but it was good. Tri color veggie dumplings: as far as veggies go, really tasty. Chewy and satisfying, served with good sauce. People I was with really enjoyed, personally I’d prioritize other dishes. soup dumpling: best dim sum item that we tried. A little bit big for one bite but it was very good and so flavorful. MAKE SURE IT COOLS OFF AS THEY RECOMMEND. Be sure to order this.
Entrees: Peking Duck Noodles: I’m very happy I chose this, all four of us loved it, my favorite food of the night. Served with a garlic chili sauce that had good flavor and not that spicy, confirmed by my spice intolerant family. Served very beautifully, a lot of veggies, great flavor and the Peking duck is amazing. seafood fried rice: this is a good dish with a healthy amount of seafood. It is a little bit of kick spice wise, but it’s flavorful and again, my family who doesn’t like spice could tolerate it. Not my favorite dish of the night, but if you like seafood, this is a great option.
Dessert: chocolate mousse with ube filled puffs: the mousse was straightforward, light and a nice end to the meal. The hedgehog shaped puffs that were filled with Ube were as adorable as they were delicious. I’m a big fan of ube, wasn’t too sweet, just right.
We saw many people order the Peking duck and the presentation looked great. I definitely want to return and try it. Presentation do everything overall was beautiful and many dishes from other tables looked amazing. The service was top notch and their non alcoholic cocktails were a little sweet, but tasty and refreshing.
Definitely try Jia, we will for sure be making a return trip as soon as possible. Would recommend making a...
Read morePlace is deep in port Washington!! Little black house!!! Dim sum is ok had better and the duck off the hook!!! Noodles had better !!! The only thing is ALEX the waiter had a little attitude with dumb jokes which is more towards the customer then anything!!! He was covering another lady that was helping us and I think he didn’t want us!!! Every time u ask him for something he would make a face!!! And not pay attention when I are ordering food!!! Ask for 1 hot and sour!!! They came out with 2 and when we told them we only ask for one they say 2 soup come to a order but at the end when the bill came we got charged for 2!?!? And when we paid he come to look at the tip and give my mom a face and before we even out the door his tell the manager and looking us making’s faces and look us leave!! If u want more then a 20% tip then give better service!!! Ales should be an actor with all the faces he makes when his not happy or get out of customer service!!!Hopefully he can change!!! But I blame management too the manager or owner was to busy looking out window at his new Matt black BMW X6M then paying attention to his...
Read moreReally hidden gem in Port Washington been to this town so many times never knew Jia was here. Building is non descript you might just miss it no signage but listen to the GPS. Service was a bit slow but friendly they seemed to be focusing on the bigger tables and we were just 2. Very nice atmosphere in a house setting. Staff is definitely friendly and will suggest things. Dim sum and soup dumplings were excellent very flavorful good ingredients the best I’ve had? Maybe not Chinatown and others in the city but it is one of the best. Soup dumplings , shrimp dumplings the duck roll and pastrami roll were all winners very hot and fresh. Big menu with noodles and fried rice as well and things like an elevated Kung Pao chicken. My only complaint is that the prices are really high, I’m not sure what justifies the $15-17 per 2-4 pc of dim sum. I don’t think it costs that much even in the city. To try multiple things and to fill up will be costly. Would try again maybe wouldn’t be my first option for dim sum but great...
