Smashburger — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

I've gone to this location maybe 3 times with friends. Twice I've ordered burger and fries and the other visit, a salad. I find Smashburger does a great job on presentation. But, I realized right away, after my first bite, it didn't appeal to me. I was kinda disappointed because I really wanted to be a regular customer. But, I knew I wouldn't be back based on my personal choice. If my friends came I would come. But, order something else. Which, is what happened. The second time, I ordered a salad. I understood the concept of why a person would wait for burger and fries to be cooked up ready to order. But, I didn't understand why I waited as long for a raw salad to be served. I was having fun talking with my friends, but I still noticed it. The salad was really good. The third visit I really was in the mood for a burger. So, I ordered one. Line had only 3 or 4 people, yet it wasn't moving. It didn't seem to be the customers holding up the line. I observed them giving their orders seamlessly. The person at the register seemed to be having an issue. After placing order and food arriving, 40mins already passed. Other issues were going on. The manager gave us coupons for our inconvenience. How cool was that, it was unexpected. Genuine, great customer service move by Darlene. When I returned on my final visit, yep I've never been back. The burger was very oily and just all around not good, you could visible see it. The burger was an equivalent to what an greasy pizza would look like. Darlene, came by the table, she remembered me from the previous visit, she immediately asked me to allow them to correct the matter. I explained my friends and I unfortunately, would not have the time to wait for another burger. But, we all appreciated the gesture, especially since we spent good money, Smashburger isn't cheap. Smashburger, I'm not a fan. But, I can see how it would appeal to a specific type of customer, I'm just not...

The staff here were very nasty. I ordered a large fry, there was sludge on the back of the container. Additionally, when I went to collect my food, one of the staff passively aggressively told me that the area was “staff only”. If it were staff only, why did you leave my food out in the cold for the past five minutes? Why didn’t you call out my name? Terrible service and very unkind. I told him I was UNAWARE it was staff-only and he still appeared EXTREMELY UPSET and said he’d “let it slide”.

How about you put up a sign that says it’s staff only?

I have an idea! Put up a sign that says “I’m going to have my staff use their phone in front of your COLD, sludge-filled food, and NOT give it to you for five minutes. I’m going to YELL at you when you pick up your food. The counter is only staff only!”

Arrived at the location and was greeted by a woman. Ordered my food but whilst i was ordering, i was corrected (with a nasty tone) by the woman at the register, for a simple mistake) After paying she asked, do you have a phone?. despite paying off my phone i was holding my phone above the counter in view of the woman. After replying yes to her question, she said "scan this and leave us a five star review" when I politely declining she again asked her question again with a demanding tone. she then began to gossip with a co worker as i was standing there. I went to go sit down, and as soon as i was comfortable she came over with tye sole objective to ask if i left the 5 star review. This is the 3rd unpleasant experience i have had with this woman.
