Let me tell you something, folks. I’ve eaten my way through enough restaurants to know that most of them are about as exciting as a presentation on the history of cardboard. But Katina Kita? This place is like that one ex you still fantasize about—unexpected, unforgettable, and dangerously addictive.
My wife, the baby (who, by the way, has better taste than most food critics), and I rolled in on a sleepy Sunday night, expecting decent grub. What we got was a culinary mind-blowing that left me questioning all my life choices. The crispy eggplant? Like crack, but legal. The lobster dumplings- So good I considered proposing to the chef. And the bacon fried rice—let’s just say if this rice were a person, I’d leave my wife for it.
Then there were the crispy dogs on skewers—because why the hell not? Genius. The hamachi crudo was fresher than my last excuse for being late, and the handrolls? Let’s just say I’d commit a misdemeanor for another bite.
Katina Kita isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a goddamn revelation. The Hudson Valley food scene just got a lot sexier. Do yourself a favor: go, eat, worship at the altar of flavor. And if you see a guy in the corner weeping into his bacon rice, don’t judge. That’s just me having a...
Read moreGet ready to spend an outrageous amount of money and leave hungry while you’re at it. The flavors themselves are well done although the menu is limited and is heavy on drinks. We walked in to a pretty empty restaurant, but as we were getting greeted by the hostess/waitress she was still talking to two other patrons turning the whole interaction into a very awkward minute of standing there waiting for them to finish. The prices themselves might seem normal at a glance but the portions here are appetizer sized. Safe to say we got pizza at Turiello’s after. I’ve genuinely never left somewhere after spending $50 still feeling so unsatiated. Their dumplings are a small enough serving to be eaten in one bite and are a priced minimum of $8 for three. They also charged us $8 for a $3 Saratoga bottle of sparkling water so take that for what it is. We ordered 2 hand rolls each but they brought them out on one plate unlabeled so we just had to guess which ones were ours and eat on a share plate. Overall I wouldn’t come here again, it’s unfortunate but it wasn’t a...
Read moreI ordered delivery (not the best way to experience, I know) but honestly, the food was INCREDIBLE. We had a lobster hand roll, lobster dumplings, sweet potato dumplings, and korean style cocktail hot dogs. the lobster handroll was one of the best things i've eaten this year. it was SO fresh and delicious - and very thoughtfully packaged to keep the roll separate until we were ready to eat it. the lobster dumplings (3) were stuffed and excellent. the sweet potato dumplings (3) had a really complex flavor for a deceptively simple dish. the mini hot dogs (6) were an awesome addition as well. the sweet potato dumplings and the cocktail dogs both came with dipping sauce. Overall, we can't wait to order again - either in person, for pickup, or even as delivery. Really excited about this addition...
