Kavos Grill — Restaurant in Town of Orangetown

We got there and waited a while for someone to serve us. Nobody came so we sat ourselves down. Manager was too busy chatting to notice his customers. He was speaking and giving everyone attention except us. (We were the only young adults there) Felt like we were being discriminated bc we looked young. Only person that seemed to care was our waitress, who probably wasn’t even suppose to be our waitress. Everyone at the restaurant was being checked up on and served regular by the same girl, we were the only ones that were given a different lady.

I ordered the chicken gyro platter and the chicken was really dry. Rice was bland and salad was alright. Mediocre food.

At the end we asked the lady to speak with the manager, she had to call him over several times and even yell at him before he gave us any attention. Only for him to address our concerns with a dismissive tone and...

I been to this establishment a few times and the food is pretty good, however as a fellow business owner I had to share my last experience. I placed an order over the phone and went to pick up my order, when I arrived I asked for the total and also asked for a CAN SODA. I asked the lady how much the can was, and she said $3 plus taxes. Now I don't mind paying whatever reasonable amount for the food but $3+ for a can is ridiculous. I know its a restaurant and all but to charge that much for a can is absurd. Later, when I got home I checked my receipt and saw they had charged me a card fee (3.99%) even though I payed cash. It was probably an error as I hope they aren't doing this to every customer. These aren't good business practices, and during these rough economic times, I just feel this...

Ordered food for takeout to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was late in the day (7pm). Even then their food was fresh and delicious! The Moussaka was out of this world tasty, so was the chicken/rice dish and Greek salad. Great balance between salt and spices and everything was well made. Was going to pick up dessert from another place…glad I didn’t and in stead got the orange sponge cake, chocolate mouse and some lemon custard in a filo dough filling. My husband is rarely impressed with desserts but he loved this one!!! And the food! We all did.

Glad we discovered this place. Compliments to the chef and please keep up the good work and remain consistent with the recipe because we will be back...
