Louie's Next Door — Restaurant in Town of Orangetown

My partner and I stumbled upon Louie's Next Door one Friday night after moving to the Nyack area looking for a cozy spot to have a drink. We walked by, read the menu, and were warmly welcomed into Louie's. The bartender, Sam, and the chef, Tony, provided great drink and app recommendations and even better conversation for hours (we planned to stop in for one drink, then we didn't want to leave!). I've never been to a place where the staff is so knowledgeable that they can offer you the story behind the art of a beer can as they're pouring it - try the rice lager and hear it for yourself! That being said, the staff at Louie's is just a cut above.

We returned for our anniversary dinner a few weeks later, and we were greeted like regulars. Venturing past bar foods, we ordered the sourdough bread and butter (twice... because it was too good) and the squid. The squid was tender and fresh, and the fried rosemary, almonds, and lemon were perfect complements. As far as cocktails go, my partner tried the cherry bomb special (Sam's creation), and as a beer drinker almost exclusively, I found myself stealing sip after sip... from coupe after coupe. After we mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary in passing, we were served complimentary creamy, refreshing lemon possets with a candle and the sweetest well wishes. I just can't say enough good things about the staff at Louie's! Or the drinks! Or the food! We're excited to see Louie's continue to thrive in Nyack and, personally, to continue making our way through their incredible food and...

This place is such a gem, and for now...a hidden secret among the people that are foodies & appreciate a glass of true fermented wine or cocktail. Herbal, refreshing, smoky and just down right delicious (or fire as the kids say)! The small plates are perfect to share, and you can tell that they really put their time into crafting the menu. I definitely recommend the chicken pate, or that bangin' turkey sandwich lol. Oh and that Lemon posset was a absolute dream to eat. We almost ordered one of everything from the menu haha One of my top favorite places now. I wish there were 10 stars to select! Congrats and...

What a gem of a spot! We have so enjoyed our (many) times at Louie's and so appreciate the attention to detail to create a delectable and enjoyable experience. The staff is unmatched in both their friendliness and curation. Happy hour is a blast (try the cacio e pepe puffs) and each cocktail is crafted with creativity and heart. The bartenders are warm and generous and the evenings we have there are memorable and hearty. A wonderful compliment to DPNB in flavor and vibe, Nyack is so fortunate to have Louie's Next Door as a neighborhood spot....
