Temptations Cafe is a bright shiny hole in the wall cafe on Main St in Nyack NY! It’s DEFINITELY the eatery people will recommend on the street when you’re new in town. I moved to Nyack from LA a month ago. I was on the hunt for the good eats in a new town. Only took a day to discover TEMPTATIONS ! When you enter you bypass a full ice cream counter and a dessert case with homemade cakes and pies . The restaurant sports a full menu with amazing breakfasts , burgers, soups and delicious sides such as sweet potato fries , Mac n cheese and assorted beverages. The wait staff are nice, the chef’s entrees creative and veggie friendly. His spice combos are singularly yummy. 5 stars don’t give this eatery justice. MAKE IT 10!

After walking the town, what a nice way to enjoy lunch, sitting at the window table of Temptations Café, doing some lazy people watching. A local recommended this place as a favorite. We agree. Very unassuming décor, nice menu – food was remarkably good. We shared a Pastrami Reuben and an order of Kobe Beef Hot Dogs with thick cut bacon and a delicious sweet BBQ dressing on a tasty toasted bun. Kobe or not, the hot dogs were certainly the best or a tie for the best “dog” ever. Service was very attentive. Nyack is a lovely town. We walked Main St and Broadway – filled with people and their pets out enjoying the first real sunny weekend of the season.

Good service (and fast!) I've been going here since I was a very little girl. I now go there to enjoy their pesto pasta and some sangria. It's not the CHEAPEST place to eat but it's reasonable and they have very good quality food. To those complaining about pricing, good luck finding a cheap restaurant on main Street that isn't Chinese food. To those complaining about service or servers, the person who served you is most likely gone and I'd give the place another try

Are there more than 5 stars?

We recently held our wedding rehearsal dinner at Temptations Cafe. A few months prior to the actual wedding, we started looking for a quality restaurant in Nyack, NY, a small town on the upstate side of the Cuomo Bridge (that replaced the Tappan Zee). Our officiant had a few suggestions, we made a few phone calls, we heard a few ridiculous "rehearsal dinner" prices. I said to my wife, "We already really dig that spot Temptations Cafe, they got that back room and the food is more 'us' anyway, why don't we contact them and see if they'll let us rock there?" We made one quick phone call and got an immediate "Absolutely." From that point on, head chef Jeremy Rose went above and beyond helping us formulate an amazing menu, actually printing custom Vaughan-Scott menus for the tables, and even making accommodations for specific dietary needs. The rehearsal dinner itself was flawless. Although Jeremy was not there, the staff running the show was on point and made us all feel welcome and thrilled that we had chosen Temptations. The food was spectacular (which we already knew and I recommend the salmon burger) and as a congratulatory gift they threw in dessert on the house. Suffice to say, this was already our favorite restaurant in Nyack, but with such awesome support and accommodating service we plan to eat there more frequently and highly recommend it to anybody visiting Nyack or who wants to take a drive for some...

Current ownership and staff not as receptive as previous ownership and staff. On line menu is limited to photos posted by customers. No actual website to use. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Sad to see this place close. Unfortunately the end of September 2021 this will happen. As I understand it like many other businesses in the country COVID had much to do with this.

I do hope they have a landing place soon. Food has been great, and on those rare occasions when it wasn't there were always offers to correct. Menu was always creative and changing with many favorites intact when new items surfaced. They prided themselves in creating a unique diverse menu to fit every taste.

Also, soon to be missed will be all of the ice cream. It was always fun when you walk in and the first thing you see at the order counter was an old school ice cream display.

Temptations Cafe will be missed. It will be leaving an unfillable void...

Used to love coming to temptations all these years but after the recent transfer of ownership the quality of food and especially service has gone down, I don’t typically leave reviews like these, but my experience tonight wasn’t great and solidified my feelings. Understandingly after a busy day with a street fair the staff may be tired, but the store was still open so the service should still be welcoming..I called to make sure they were open 30 minutes before closing and on the phone were already saying they were about to close..we arrive the man behind the counter is clearly overextended by the end of the day and the service didn’t go very well he was short and overall unwelcoming. Got some ice cream to go and the Reese’s topping was very stale. Just the service and quality has gone down. Felt it warranted a review...
