You know I've never been enamored with Farmingdale Croxley's selection of beer, and especially the fact that they fail to carry the Long Island regional beers seems pretty sad to me. But myself and a bunch of my work friends went there for the 10 cent wing night. The wings aren't amazing, but hey, at 10 cents a piece I'm willing to settle for something that is definetily less than "world famous". But after the attitude of the staff this past experience, I think we'll be taking our business elsewhere from now on. We arrived at about 6:50 or so and told the staff we had a large group, they balked at the size, but said as long as we were willing to wait 30-40 minutes it would be fine. We agreed, and noticed a large group (approx our size) already seated, so we assumed that after that group finished their meal that we would be able to sit. So we took a seat at the bar, ordered some beers and began chatting. About a half hour later the group left, the table was cleared, and then... THEY SAT A GROUP OF 6 AT THE TABLES WHERE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE SEATED AND THEY HAD JUST GOTTEN THERE!!! We asked what was going on and we were told to be patient. These people proceeded to order 1 drink each and then sit there for almost an hour. For 30 minutes they sat there at an empty table with no drinks, having paid their check. The wait staff was rude to myself and my friends, we waited an hour and a half for a table that should have been available in half the time, because whoever was assigning tables screwed up. The staff was rude, and when we were seated the service was slow, and innattentive. I've been to all three Croxley's on the island and the other 2 seem to have good staffs, and fun atmospheres. This one needs...
Read moreReally inconsistent service, waitress was trying to keep up but it was super busy and everything kept falling thru the cracks... 10 mins to put in drinks order, another 10 for 1/2 beers to arrive then wings came which are definitely not what they used to be. Overcooked, the formerly deviating Cry like a Baby sauce while still flavorful has been neutered to only slightly hotter than hot, while hot was so salty it was nearly inedible.
Nearly finished wings by the time we were able to flag down server and get the other beer we ordered 20 minutes ago. Was still waiting for a salad when that arrived and we decided we had to bail out and get the salad wrapped bc we had a movie in 45 mins.
15 wings of barely passable quality cost nearly $25 now, salad I think was $17 which we ended up eating at home was sad at best, yes it sat in a 45 degree car for 2.5 hours but it had to have started life pretty soggy to be as bad as it was.
Not a great time, they were swamped but management seemed to just be aimlessly circling and not really making any useful contributions. Used to love the now defunct Smithtown location but idk of we'll be returning...
Read moreMy wife and I recently stopped into Croxley's because we heard so much about the wings. We are both in our mid 60's. We just wanted a snack and to try the wings. the waitress told us we HAD TO order a min of 10 each. OK no problem. We had a couple of tap beers also. We ate all but a couple of these wings. I asked to take the couple of wings home, To my suprise the waitress told us it would cost us 65cents each to take home. YES I know people order massive amounts, eat a few and think they are going to take home the rest for that menu price. I understand that. BUT you must draw the line somewhere. We are seniors and sometimes get full alot quicker. We only had a couple left. Give me a break. As far as the wings they were over deep fried and not juicy at all, Although the flavor was good. I think the staff should have the right to decide on the amount of wings a person can take home with no extra charge. Like I said, People who order massive amounts and want to take them all home should not be allowed, but as far as my experience, I will never put myself through that again. Re-think...
