My first impression of this place was awesome. I was greeted by a friendly face and inviting smile from the young woman Sophia. She was so awesome and just a very cool person all around. Her friendly and accommodating persona made me come back a second time, and once again I felt welcomed. So much to the point where I was raving about this place to all my friends.
Then I came back a third time. I was having a really bad day and was looking forward to a little pick me up. So I stopped in. A friend of mine tagged along, one of whom I had spoken so highly of this place to.
The usual greeting was gone, replaced by an older bitter woman who was very rude. Even though I greeted her warmly, she regarded me with disdain. I asked her for two coffees, which she then proceeded to pour. I am allergic to dairy, so when I asked for oat milk, her response was, "No, whole milk or skim." When I explained to her that I cannot have dairy, all she said was, "Well I'm all out. Do you want the coffee or not?" No apology. Maybe she didn't see anything wrong with this attitude, but she completely turned me off altogether. And needless to say, she completely disqualified every good thing I had told my friend about this place. Sadly I will no longer be returning, nor will the handful of people that I recommended it to. If you're going to run a business, treat each customer with respect unless they give you a...
Read moreSo my boyfriend and I have only been to the Plainview location twice but each time the employees are SO welcoming. They are the nicest people no matter who it is and every time we visit they offer us something different to taste without us even asking! We truly cannot rave enough about them and express how grateful we are for our experiences! The cookies may be a bit pricey for some but we think it is appropriate as they have a gooey center, are very flavorful, and not your average cookie! Plus, the more you purchase, the better the deal you get and honestly you can't go wrong with trying all the different flavors they have! We tried the two types of dubai chocolate, lemon poppyseed, and blueberry cheesecake cookies and absolutely loved them all. (We ate them all so fast we forgot to take pics of most of them...lol sorrryyy). They say you can pop the ones without a chocolate coating in the oven for a few minutes to warm them up, but we didnt even feel the need to do so and they were still soft and delicious!! All of the cookies are fresh and just as tasty as they look! Next time we pass through the area, no doubt we will stop again and try another flavor from their menu!! We are fans of chip city, but we absolutely agree that Duchess Cookies...
Read moreThe shop is very small, but they had a wide variety of cookies, maybe 25 different kinds. They all looked extremely delicious. I've had them as a gift, but this was first time at the store. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and offered me a vanilla and sorbet taste cup, which was delicious. I bought oatmeal chocolate chip, chocolate chip, strawberry cheesecake (unicorn), oatmeal apple, pistachio cookies, and the cookie croissant. The croissant was not quite my thing, but the cookies were A+++, all of them. I'd love an oatmeal peanut butter cookie, of that's an idea in the hopper! These cookies are not cheap, but former cookies are expensive these days, and this place has more variety...
