This is a bias review because I've been going here for the past 15 years of my 21 year life, I know the staff well so basically I'd eat Easter dinner there if I could.
Glaring issue: this place gets busy and there isn't a ton of seating if you go for dinner after 6:30 on a weekend, expect a wait. Food Analysis: Mac and cheese pizza: they make the Mac and cheese there for the pizza, it's not Kraft or something out of a box so this means it's basically the best thing I've ever eaten Grandma's pizza: actually the best thing I've ever eaten. The tomatoes on this slice are not too large and do not cause that devastating destruction of deliciousness as you consume it. There is a touch of olive oil on this and that really helps give it some extra flavor. If you're only getting one thing, get this. Chicken parmigiana: they tend to use very thin cutlets for this, this results in an easy to eat meal as well as giving it more flavor. You may have to ask for extra sauce but all in all, a very good option. Penne alla vodka: not the best I've ever had, but it is good. It does have pancetta in it, but if that's not your cup of tea than you can just ask for penne with pink sauce. It's the same thing but there is nothing in it, it's just pasta and sauce. Overall recommendation: this place is worth it, if you're looking for pizza this is the best place to go in the area for Italian dinner it's...
Read moreUPDATE: My opinion has changed, as the food and forward facing staff have changed. A year ago I wrote an entirely different review, and now this; we stopped in for a few slices during the week at around 3 PM and the place was empty. We were told by the tall middle ages counter person with an chip on his shoulder that neither regular or Sicilian pies would be ready for 10 minutes. Ok, we got a soda and waited. There was a teenaged boy behind the counter too, milling about looking at his cell phone. After a short while the bellicose counterman said seemingly to noone "you're up". It would have been nice for the teenage kid to bring our tray to or table, but that's being petty. What I did bring to my table was a Sicilian slice slice of thick undercooked bread with some sparse, tasteless, Ragu under an anemic layer of cheese; and two "regular" slices that were essentially devoid of sauce, paper thin, tasteless, and undercooked. If I knew that my business had competition on practically every corner of the neighborhood, I'd do my best to do...
Read moreBy far the best pizza place & Italian food in Massapequa and has been and has not been held a candle to by any newcomers since I moved here in 2001 and I am 100% Italian and come from much further west and the further west you go, like into the boro's, the better the pizza. I live on the other end of this very large town so i can't really complain about how long it takes to deliver but the food and staff operate well under pressure which is just about all the time as this place is always packed. We normally do take out but when we do eat in there's this one waitress Deidre who always remembers us. She knows my son since he was an infant and always took great care of him. The pizza is top notch for Long Island, crust sauce, cheese al in proper proportions. The menu food awesome as well. Fabulous Minestrone soup. I don't eat meat or seafood but I have never been disapointed with any chicken dish. I love the chicken parm! Their Italian ices are top quality as well. I think they order from Spumoni Gardens but not sure. The Spumoni...
