Extremely poor management and supervisor skills, resulted in Kayle the head bartender, who helped build this tap room location getting FIRED...DURING THE HOLIDAYS, because she had a family emergency...I have seen this CORPORATE behavior during my years working in Port Washington on Harbor Park Drive and now I'm a project monitor licensed by department of labor in NY state I work with the biggest construction companies and unions in New York state, and I think its completely unacceptable to witness worker abuse . With 8 tap rooms located in different locations all over long island it speaks volumes that management is unable to find someone to cover a shift , and had to result in firing someone DURING THE HOLIDAYS. Are the owners of the tap room aware that the managers are abusing workers at the Jericho location? Someone needs to look into why people are getting fired on the holidays .....
In my field of work, if a project monitor isn't on site, 15 construction workers can't work, and if they do, they risk fines stating at $100,000 because the building owner gets fines and so does the company, tap room isn't facing these kinds of rules and regulations but they are treating their workers as if they don't show up,.the company is going to get fines starting at $100,000
Seeing people get fired during the holidays is where I draw the line, especially when it's the fault the supervisors/management fault for not having the networking skills to reach out to 8 other tap rooms scattered throughout in Nassau and Suffolk county and finding someone to cover a shift. Or, not having the skills to cover a shift themselves , which proves they are "out of touch" and should be replaced by supervisors/management that can cover a shift without having to fire someone during the holidays
Firing employees during the holidays in corporate America can have a significantly negative impact on employee morale, company reputation, public perception, and can cause significant stress and financial hardship for the individuals affected, making it generally considered a poor practice; especially due to the added emotional strain of the festive season.
Negative impacts:
Employee Morale:
Sudden job losses during the holiday season can create a widespread sense of anxiety and insecurity among remaining employees, impacting their productivity and loyalty to the company, as they fear they could be next.
Public Perception:
News of a company firing employees during the holidays can be seen as cruel and insensitive by the public, damaging the company's reputation and brand image.
Financial Stress:
Being let go during the holiday season can place significant financial strain on individuals, as they may have already incurred expenses related to gifts, travel, and holiday celebrations.
Employee Engagement:
The experience of being fired during the holidays can significantly decrease employee engagement and willingness to go above and beyond for the company in the future.
Alternatives to firing during the holidays:
Before resorting to layoffs, companies can explore other options like looking to fill positions, train other employees as bartenders, or have the supervisor or managers fill the positions of a bartender.
If a supervisor or manager is unable to fill the role of bartender, that supervisor or manager should be the one fired , for failure to have a backup system in case a worker has a death in family and can't work
In conclusion, it is the SUPERVISOR and MANAGEMENT job to have a back up plan, and back up workers in case...

Read morei live very close to jericho turnpike, so ive passed this corner forever even before it became tap room. i’ve passed if for months, wondering “when is it finally gonna open?” and now that is has, i finally found the time to come with my mother and try it out. our server, louis was so polite and helpful, and recommended to us the mac and cheese balls which were amazing. the crispy wontons were mediocre. i ordered the birria sliders, which tasted great. my only complaint was that the bottom bun was soggy. i swapped out the side of plain fries for cajun fries, and i wish i hadn’t since they were so salty with barely any spice. mom ordered the carolina burger (?) with a side of truffle fries. she said the burger was dry. her truffle fries were sooo delicious i would certainly order them next time. for drinks i ordered the cosmo-not, which was nice. mom ordered tropic like its hot, a spicy mocktail and it was SOOOO GOOD. perfect balance of citrus and spice. the desserts seemed appealing but at that point we were stuffed. the service and atmosphere was very nice, and overall i would return. just make sure to bring a sweater because its a little chilly. and you’ll get the food cheap if you come happy hour...
