Monday night me and 7 other friends went to Walls Wharf to celebrate a friends birthday. When we arrived the bar was packed and there were a couple of other tables on the outside deck. We sat down outside on the sand and immediately were swarmed by a million bugs. Full disclosure we did ask to be seated outside but you would think they would have candles or a fan to at least keep them moving like other outside restaurants. At one point i actually went to my valeted car to take bug spray out and spray our table because it was so bad. The waitress came over and asked what we wanted to drink we told her we just had sat down and would need a few minutes. We also requested candles at that point. About 10 minutes later she returned with candles and took both our drink and app order. Our drinks didnât come out until our appetizers did and I have to say it was the worst Moscow mule I have ever had in my life. However I didnât want to complain so instead I just ordered a soda. Eventually we put our entree orders in and finished our meal. We asked for the check and handed it back with credit cards inside. The waitress explained to us that she couldnât split the bill among the cards. Now, 4/8 of us have worked in the restaurant business before and we have never heard of a computer system that doesnât allow the cards to be split. Either way we just venmoed one of our friends as he paid for the entire thing. We noticed the waitress had added gratuity as well. As we were getting up to leave and headed towards the valet the waitress chased after us to get my friend to sign. After she went back inside we all began saying our goodbyes and getting into our cars. My friend Christina and her brother were the last to leave. After they got into their car and began pulling out another waitress chased after them and jumped in front of their car. She then proceeded to ask if they were apart of the table that the server Angela just had. We honestly didnât catch her name but she asked if they meant the table of 8. She answered âyes thatâs Angela , was she really that bad you couldnât give her a tip? Like really ? Sheâs inside crying now because of you guys â In which they replied she included the gratuity and gestured to the check she was holding. The waitress looked down and only replied âohâ and walked back inside. Not only did we get mediocre food and decently slow service but we were then harassed after our meal. All of us who have worked in restaurants agreed that we were never able to add gratuity to a check without or managers permission meaning the waitress would have to ask to add the gratuity. Even if that wasnât the case and she truly didnât realize the gratuity wasnât added how incredibly pathetic to send another waiter to literally chase after a moving car. Forget about proper etiquette but thatâs just flat out dangerous. No apology after the fact either. If there was no tip there were so many other ways to approach the situation like â We noticed there was no gratuity added to the bill, was everything okay? What went wrong that we can approve on ?â. We will NEVER be returning and all of us will be making sure to let everyone know how poor of an experience and how unprofessional the staff at this restaurant will be if they decide...
Read moreTHE OWNER "Bill" IS A NASTY RUDE CONDESCENDING MAN and his hostesses (the older women hostesses) ARE JUST AS AWFUL.
This restaurant has the most breathtaking sunsets I have ever seen. It is so unfortunate that the sunsets are spoiled by the most unkind, nasty and unpleasant staff I have ever encountered. Do not waste your time here. You will witness your waiters and waitresses getting used and abused leaving your pallet extremely uncomfortable and bitter despite your meal choice. Lets start in the parking lot. Before you even go inside of this monstrosity, if you value your car and would like to keep it free of scratches than this restaurants parking lot is not for you. Before I even walking inside I witnessed a customer who had no patients waiting for the valet and instead took it upon himself to take his own car out resulting in him hitting the car next to him and not saying a word about it. Then when you walk in you are NOT greeted by friendly hostesses but instead are treated like you are the BIGGEST inconvenience. I even witnessed a waiter carrying a LARGE tray of drinks and food and instead of her holding the door for him she walked through the door watching him struggle and just let the door close in his face. Other waiters were arguing with each other right in from of customers and bad mouthing another one of their staff members who was clearly doing his best in the business that was a Saturday night. I was waiting to speak to the manager, BILL about a party I was planing for my sister and he immediately shut me down that they do not accommodate parties even on the scale of 10 people on the beach nor do they hold reservations for such things. Our whole conversation he did not once look me in the eye, not even my face and I could not believe this man had the audacity he had in his tone and disgusting attitude. Not only until I let him know that I sat next to a very large party on the beach before did he then admit that they indeed to parties on the beach. He was rude, condescending and completely lost all my respect for the facility. I asked simple polite questions such as what weather conditions or temperature do you no longer host dinner on the beach and his answers were despicable and belittling. He kept insisting he would not know anything until the day of and he most likely would not be able to accommodate us. BILL THE MANAGER and the HOSTS were the most unpleasant, belittling and disgusting people I have EVER met. I will never ever give them a dime of my money. They DO NOT care about their customers they DO NOT care about their valet or their waiters or waitresses. Even if you are lucky enough to not encounter Bill at your dinner spent here, you will one hundred percent feel the hostility in the air becuse someone will either be rude to you or rude to a fellow staff member. This place is hypocritical and disappointing and I am ashamed to have ever given my time and money to this place. Also the food is a rip off. Bill you are awful and need to learn some manners. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A WONDERFUL NIGHT AND A WONDERFUL DINNER ON THE BAY PLEASE DRIVE A MINUTE SHORTER DOWN THE BLOCK AND GO TO OCEAN. Every experience I have had there was lovely and the staff actually knew how to treat people like...

Itâs a sunny, gorgeous Sunday at a beach restaurant and they have one valet person working, causes quite a bit of backup, okay whatever, weâre patient, things happen.
We get into the restaurant and look at the menu, things look good, vibes are up. We order bread (typically donât love when bread isnât included but okay every place is different), and proceed to be served the soggiest bread I have ever been served in my life. Just smothered aggressively in oil.
Moving on, our waitress was a mess. Quite frankly I donât think it was entirely her fault, the place was blatantly understaffed. They didnât have enough people to service both outside and inside so she was running back and forth. What I donât understand is the sheer lack of customer service that we were offered. She was cursing in front of our family and my grandparents, sweat dripping and talking about how much she was sweating, not listening and talking over us before we finished speaking or asking questions. It was not just her; the bussers would put plates down without cleaning any empties up, and it was obvious, they were shoving stuff to fit. It wasnât until we starting asking and helping them bus the table that they said âOhâ and even then, we had to assist.
In regards to entrĂŠe, just go ahead and ignore the descriptions on what your getting, you will be getting mashed potatoes and string beans with carrots regardless. Everything bland and flavorless.
We get to the check, I will also preface, my family will never not tip. We work in service and at the end of the day we can recognize mis management and appreciate the people providing for us regardless of our opinions. The waitress took it upon herself to do the math for 20% and largely wright it on our bill. She said âShe just wanted to help us out so we didnât have to do the math ourselvesâ. Iâm sorry not a good end. Of course, we still gave it to her but we can do the math ourselves thank you.
And before you say, oh this is just an older person with too many opinions. Iâm in my 20s and have been to dive bars with more decorum and...
