All experiences I have had with Samuel's staff have been wonderful. They have gone above and beyond multiple times and have excellent customer service. During my visit a couple of weeks ago, they recommended to me what candy that they would think I would like based on my fave actor's tastes so I decided to give it a try. I ended up buying the chocolate sweedish fish, the blue raspberry sour lace and the rainbow lace. While the candy is a little pricey, it is definitely high quality and worth it. Sweedish fish have been one of my fave candies when growing up so to see they have a chocolate covered one was a must have for me since I haven't heard of being able to get the chocolate covered kind anywhere. After my wonderful experience visiting, I decided to order more candy a week later (I got glued to the sweedish fish and the rainbow laces) to which the candy arrived well packed. The only issue I had was I was sent the wrong item by mistake. (I got sour strawberry laces instead of rainbow lace) When I called to see how this issue could be fixed due to living out of state, I was told to keep the laces they sent by mistake and they would send me the correct item (which they did, it was also well packed and arrived here pretty quick.) The staff are super nice and very knowledgable about their candies when you ask about them. They definitely made a new customer for sure. I will be going back and visiting the place in the future due to their high quality candies and excellent...
Read moreThey are good here, but their prices are outrageous. I paid almost $9 dollars for a bag of candy and two chocolates. Would recommend going to Kraus’ chocolate shop because it’s just as good and about half the price. To put it into perspective, a bag of gummy bears at The Kraus’ Shop is $1.75 for a decent sized bag and a bag of gummy bears at Samuel’s is $4.95 for a much smaller bag. Why go here and spend double as much when you can go elsewhere and spend half as much for the same quality? Came here because I’m a huge Walking Dead fan and Ant Man fan, but I will not be returning. How can a candy shop owned by millionaires be more expensive then a family owned business who most definitely has nowhere near the amount of money as the owners of this shop. Wouldn’t be complaining if it was the best candy and chocolate I’ve ever had, but it’s no better than Kraus. This is an example of a shop that only caters to people from the city. This place is only adding to the displacement of the working class people in upstate NY. Bring this shop down to the city where it belongs, along with all of the other citiot shops...
Read moreOk… before anyone calls me a “Karen” I’d like to make it explicitly clear that I rarely complain and also usually have a great experience at Samuel’s. HOWEVER… I just went in and left empty handed. All I wanted was a tea and a cookie to finish out my work day. When I went in, there was a large family finishing up a transaction and one other person in front of me. I happily waited on the left, as the markers on the floor indicate. A young woman came in and went right and was served between me and the other sole individual who had been waiting. Then it was just me, a woman who came in with her two little children and another guy (who went right and not left, both came in AFTER me). One employee helped the man and the other employee completely ignored me and waved down the mother with her kids, as if she knew her. I had been waiting for 10 minutes! Could I have said something? Sure, but the fact I had been standing there for so long and completely ignored simply baffled me and left me speechless. Now I’m sad and annoyed for the last half...
