Today was 4th time trying them, and 3 out of 4 experiences have been bad. First 3 times, I did get pizza, but 2 of those times I had to wait significantly longer than I was told. If that was because they were extremely busy maybe, but there were not very many cars coming and going or sitting in the parking lot for the 30 min. I was there. A couple of these times I was just the pick-up guy and my friends roasted me for how long it took. The real reason for the low rating though is the pizza. 25.00 large pizzas in this area should be very good. They have very, very little toppings and they did not go out far enough on the pizza, meaning too much uncovered crust on edges. Now I have not had all their specialty pizzas, some of them might be good, but for the money they are not delivering a superior product to the cheap places. That brings us to today. I spent the time going through their site to order only to find out I am outside their delivery area. I AM 3.5 MILES FROM THEM! What is the delivery area, 2 blocks? Ok, so I decide to go pick up. I finish the order, and then realize it does not tell me anywhere how long it will take. I call and they tell me I have to pay first. I was going to pay when I picked up which was an option on the site. Not sure if they would have called me, or whether my order would have just sat there. They also are refusing to take cash, which for Covid I get, but this is the first place I have dealt with that has taken that stance. I get pizzas delivered frequently. I know it takes a little extra precautions, but it can be done. The waiting and cash thing are minor. The main reason for the review was the pizza. I canceled my order today when I called, and while I was writing this I just got an email my order was ready for pick up. They really seem to...
Read moreHi, we happen to be in Wausau because we went to Sam’s Club and we saw that there was a Glass Nickel in the area online so we sped over there to enjoy a pizza. When we walked in, we were told that we should just seat ourselves, and they would bring us menus. We waited a while probably five minutes when the waitress walked up (can’t say what her name was as she never told us)and asked us what we are ordering we said well we don’t have menus, she did bring the menus back after quite a while then pushed us into ordering right away. We ordered a medium pizza. We were never asked what crust we prefer thin but got regular. The waitress was not really around. We saw her wandering a lot taking care of other people she never smile. She never asked us if our food was good, and she finally came back when we were just sitting there and asked us if we wanted a box and then I had to ask for the bill frankly no one in that place was friendly no one there was one girl who had an actual glass nickel shirt on that was walking around, smiling and training another girl and she’s the only one that made me feel like she actually enjoyed her job and wanted people there. Would we go back I don’t think so. Would we order online maybe it’s hard to say the pizza was good it was scarce for toppings, but still I liked it would’ve liked it more if it had been a thin crust definitely was not a great dining experience. I tried to call today to talk to a manager. The manager supposedly was in the kitchen cooking imagine that no wonder the staff is running amuck if the managers busy cooking I don’t know...
Read moreThe Glass Nickel Pizza restaurant is a really nice place. Over 20 pizza selections, a create your own pizza with over 50 options, mix and match pasta selections, a customizable salad option, chicken and shrimp, 14 sub options, and over 15 appetizers. They also have a full bar with specialty brews and cocktails. In addition to the full bar, they muddle their old fashions as well. I think it'll be more of a quiet pizza place once the just opened hype has died down. They have good mood lighting closer to supper time to make everything look calm and chill. They have music playing in the background as well. Oldies. Seating at the bar, or tables as options. They don't have any TVs. I recommend having the cheese bread that they have on the appetizer list. It's not cooked so much that the crust is hard. The crust is soft and mushy(in a good way) and is a perfect appetizer to more pizza We got the mac daddy pizza, a mac and cheese pizza with cavatappi noodles and alfredo sauce, as well as a 5-cheese blend. This pizza is very cheesy, but you can tell it has very high quality ingredients We also had the chicken alfredo pizza, with alfredo sauce, mushrooms, spinach, chicken and garlic. This one was really good. Had a lot more flavor than the Mac Daddy pizza, with more ingredients (obviously). Both pizzas had a lot of cheese. But some people are really into that (I mean hey were in Wisconsin)! Anyway, I would recommend this place for sure, maybe a little bit later down the line of it being open, as it's busy right now. Good atmosphere too. And a nickel inlaid bar, with a bunch of...
