We went to Hobby Lobby today to buy a journal. Previously there was a whole section of beautiful journals with scriptures that were suitable for adults. My daughter wanted one for her Birthday and to buy one for her friend. We searched the entire store to no avail! When we asked for assistance we were directed to sketch books. Upon further inquiry we were directed to an end cap that had a couple of diaries that seamed suited for children. It was a disappointing shopping trip. One quarter of the store is filled with Christmas stuff making me wonder if that is why there is no longer room for journals. We bought a clearance item that was normally $15.00 but marked down to $5.00. The item rang up at $15.00 so we brought it back to the cashier to correct. The cashier apologized but then needed to wait for a manager to ok the transaction. After a long wait the manager came and said how she had to come all the way from the back of the store but did not offer us an apology for the mistake on our transaction. We did get the price that we originally should have but no compensation was offered and it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to get mad when the wife would go in there for 3 hours at a time but then I got disabled and when I got disabled I started doing custom metal stamping and drawing and sketching and mens jewelry creations. now I can actually spend more time in Hobby Lobby than my wife can. I wouldn't say they have everything but most anything you could ever need for crafting, there are a few things that I've requested them to sell but still dont, like soldering stuff for jewelry soldering, and their metal stamping section use to be a half aisle, now it's a 3 foot section with only 1 expensive brand that isnt even a good brand, I've metal stamped for 5 years now, and it's gotten to where I have to buy online now for good supplies and tools,,, but not to sell them out or anything--but Jo-Ann's and Michaels have started carrying a lot more metal stamping stuff.. but as for hobby lobby what they don't have in the store they make up for on their website and the staff is always very courteous and very helpful, and a Christian atmosphere is great, especially in a busy hectic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my first time visiting a Hobby Lobby.
It was PACKED!
Workers seemed confused, and the discount signs were very misleading.
I ended up spending DOUBLE what I anticipated and that was AFTER putting about a 3rd of my stuff back.
Imagine my disappointment when the 7 dollar cup I bought was cracked when I got it home. I figured, "hey its ok. I got 2 of them".....
Well? The VERY NEXT DAY, I dropped my plastic cup on the carpet. And it cracked all the way.
It was one of those cute sparkle glasses too.
Honestly? The dollar store has equal quality stuff. You can get most of what they have at other craft stores as well as Walmart.
Staff weren't very helpful even though they were plentiful.
And when I had to put things back due to the misleading signage? Front staff were very short with me. And kind of rolled their eyes like I should have known better.
I'll stick to Walmart for my crafting needs.
Michael's and Pier1 have similar things. Pretty disappointed.
But hey, cute to go look at if you don't really...
