Absolutely love this store. I spend so much money here because I love makeup. And typically the customer service is phenomenal. But...these two weeks I have been making huge purchases over several trips because I was on the hunt to replace my near expired lipstick collection. I probably spent over $1000 at Ulta during this time. Yesterday, I went and bought 5 Mac lipsticks that was all the rage on YouTube. I also bought like 14 lip liners between Nyx, Mac, Morphe. Well, you know how lipsticks can look different on people? And it certainly did not suit me so I returned the 5 mac lipsticks (mind you I already kept 6 other ones I bought) and I also returned 3 morphe lip liners. The cashier began to publicly shame me for returning so much "used" product that I literally tested once amd immediately returned the next day. She also lectured me about how they now "have" to throw everything away" and implied that because of people like me they have to be "very strict" with their return policy, whatever that means. And she also sternly reprimanded me "that's why we have samples." Pardon me, if I dont want to put these "samples", products that over thousands of different people have touched, onto my bare lips. It was one of the most embarassing moment of my life as there was a long line of people behind me who heard everything. Needless to say, I will not be returning for a long, long time as the experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I will stick to online shopping or put my money to other stores for the moment. Very disappointing customer service today Ulta. If you have problems with customers returning items they are not satisfied with, perhaps change your return policy. Read moreI'm absolutely terrible and clueless at makeup, so I put on my big girl clothes to see if i could get help on what to get or advise. Walked in there and felt instant anxiety because everyone stared at me as if to say, why tf are you here you aren't wearing makeup. Was walking through and someone actually asked me of I needed help. Okay cool. Flat out said, hey I'm terrible at makeup could you help me find an everyday look, I'm sorry I don't know really anything. Was talking about whether I liked this or that... lady I just said I don't know anything how am I suppose to know what I like or don't like please explain. She showed me what she had on and walked away. No one else offered to see if i was okay. Got too overwhelmed, had anxiety attack, and had to leave frustraited and defeated. I know I dont know makeup, I know it looks bad as a 22yr old, I know I dont have "the look"... but please don't make me feel completely terrible about myself and make me hate myself more than I already do. That customer service was plain terrible... at least show me sympathy or explain to me...it took me months of wanting to go and finally want to look pretty... now I never want to go back from embarrassment.
