Food is always great and so is the service, BUT I gave 1 star for "atmosphere" because the 2 times we ate here (the O.G. on Rib Mountain Drive in Wausau) they sat us in the bar section of the restaurant and twice now there were very loud smaller children crying and screaming and the irresponsible parents did absolutely NOTHING to quiet them down.... NOTHING!!! And this happened both times we were there to enjoy a nice dinner. We dont go out to eat to listen to uncontrollable kids screaming! We were only on our appetizer and I already wanted to leave! I mentioned it to our waitress....when she stopped to see how everything was....I told her, "Great! Except for the out of control children 10 feet away from us." She said she understood but there was nothing she could do about it. Which I understand that she can't be rude to them, but I think a manager should have told the parents if they can't shut their loud screaming children up, they need to take their food to-go! I would think a place like Olive Garden wouldn't be a place to bring your obnoxious, young children to UNLESS you are responsible, good parents that would either remove your child if they start screaming and crying, OR have children that dont act like uncontrollable brats in public in the first place! I don't blame the kids, I blame the ignorant parents AND Olive Garden should seriously say something when this is happening! It disrupts the entire restaurant! From now on if they try to seat us in that section I will absolutely refuse and if we happen to get seated near a family of small children, we will ask to be moved. Like I said, we have been here twice and BOTH times this has happened! Not acceptable. Take your kids to Burger King where they can play in the playland and act like kids! Not to a nice restaurant like Olive Garden....UNLESS you are able to control your children! Dont get me wrong, I love kids but when you are in public and your children are screaming at the top of their lungs you really should do something about it and feel embarrassed that your kid is acting this way! Nope, not these parents, they sat their ignoring their screaming child and carried on a conversation with each other. At one point my man yelled, "TAKE THEM TO THE...
Read moreThis restaurant has gone downhill fast. The last three visits have been horrible from having a carafe of coffee spilled on the table to overall service/cleanliness. Today, we ordered our appetizer from the kiosk which was calamari, bread sticks with Alfredo dipping sauce. We received the calamari and the Alfredo dipping sauce and no bread sticks. We were brought the soups that we ordered and right on the top lip of my bowl was dried food that was not from the soup I ordered. Was told they are waiting for fresh bread sticks. After about 5-7 minutes our waitresses came back and asked if we wanted fresh Alfredo to go with the bread sticks. We said said yes because it was cold already. We were brought the bread sticks and alfredo. We finished our appetizers and were asked if we wanted more bread sticks and alfredo while we continuedto wait for our food, we said sure. This time we were brought bread sticks and no alfredo because "they were waiting for a fresh batch". How can an Italian restaurant not have this ready at all times? By the time the alfredo came the bread sticks were cold. I ordered chicken tortellini. Our waitress then came back and asked if I wanted chicken with my tortellini. I told her I ordered chicken tortellini so yes I want chicken. I got my bill and they charged me 4 dollars extra for basically a large chicken nugget. As far as the cleanliness of this restaurant, you need to do better. The picture I'm attaching is the 2nd time I've seen this on the wall of a booth. Two separate booths too. You probably can tell what that is on the wall. My honest opinion is that this restaurant needs to shut down for a period of time and do...
Read moreMy family and I stopped here to have a nice, sit down meal. Unfortunately that is not what happened. While our server was very cordial, I believe he was not well trained or given the tools necessary to succeed. It took over 30 minutes for my husband to get his soup and our salad. When the salad was brought to us we had to ask for plates as we did not want to just stab our forks in the bowl. After finally getting plates and our breadsticks we were then awaiting our entrees. My husband had the unlimited soup/salad and after he finished the first bowl of soup and 2 plates of salad we were then made to sit another 20+ minutes before we were brought the other 2 entrees for myself and my stepdaughter. The order for my step daughter was wrong and you could tell that my meal was sitting under the warmer as the noodles were crispy around the edges. We then had to wait another 10 minutes for my husband’s soup and the other entree corrected. As we also sat waiting for breadsticks our Alfredo dipping sauce began to separate. When our remaining order was brought to the table you could clearly tell they were frozen meals and not made fresh. The Alfredo sauce tasted like butter, my shrimp scampi tasted like peppered noodles, the asparagus was all bottoms and woody and the spaghetti and meatballs were watery and tasted like they were just thawed out from being in the freezer. We did not even want to take the remains of our meals home. I can understand if it was busy, but that is just not the case. Overall we were extremely disappointed with the service and the meal. We will not being coming back and wasting our money...
