Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Riverhead

I thought it was going to be a usual Riverhead Tropical Smoothie day, but they were actually busy. Not dead as a door nail, but that’s no excuse to run slower than snails with food and smoothies. My ETA was 1:48 for completion. By 2:02 I finally asked if it was done and got my flatbread, but the salad is still being worked on. They were not fully done until 2:06. That’s quite the delay for a small group of separate people. They have two young dudes running the smoothies and some old Homer Simpson dude that one of the employees said to me, “he does not know what the f&@$ he doin’” and yet he is absolutely right. But then again, it doesn’t seem most of them do unfortunately. It’s like waiting for paint to dry in this establishment. I’ve had less wait time for simple things here. I’ve had less wait time at an actual legitimate restaurant. I’ve never wasted so much time in my life waiting for the slow mo crew. None of them are on the same page. They cut the peanut butter crunch flatbread in half when you’re not suppose to do that. Not a lot of peanut butter, but a whole lot of granola. I didn’t know it was the granola flatbread. I asked for an island green smoothie and they gave me a detox smoothie with ginger. Never asked for ginger. I ordered a salad with no crisps in it, they gave me it anyway. Homer Simpson indeed. Lack of team effort, lack of common sense, lack of professionalism, explicit language whenever they think they want, belittling their own employees and shaking their heads at their own employees. I’m shaking my head at all of them. Disappointed and somebody needs to have a proper manager there to run things.

0 Stars Sept 28th -1:15 If I could give this place 0 stars I would, I decide to give this place an other shot since people make mistakes I thought this was gonna be a regular day at Trop!! My smoothie tasted like water with big chunks of ice I didn’t know I was drinking a Freeze But no, I soon as I walk in to pick up my smoothie you have a employee who looks like the apple jack character yelling and cursing at a other employee awhile the other employee proceed to walk away Apple jack dude starts screaming and yelling inappropriate words as if he isn’t in a work environment. Younger fella who tried to walk away from screaming employee ends up going outside As I was at the dryer and cleaner place you can see both employees outside while young fella standing there and other employee yelling and saying he will slap him Which I find quite unprofessional in the front where customers are entering and exiting. Paying almost 10 dollars for a smoothie that is completely not drinkable. Will not return. Horrible store!!! do not waste your time coming here!! Find a different place to eat with your family/friends! This store mind as well be shut down!!!! Manger no where to be nowhere awhile other employees are standing there...

Three issues need tending to.

Cross contamination of smoothly drinks.

a made smoothie was knocked over and spilled onto steel counter. - employee then used the lid to scoop and scrape off the counter the magi smoothie and back into the cup and replaced the lid.

This is while cleaning a exploded green smoothie off the counter with a rag.

When I asked if said smoothie was remade - he lied and said yes - which is clearly impossible since both machines were out of commission!

Smoothies of two differ t kinds - all on the outside of cup.

Young female staff member bit my head off - when I asked her how where my smoothie was. Rude - but she made a good impression previously.

Dislike being lied to when I ordered a magi drink and it’s scrapped off the counter and clearly had green drink inside from the mishap !
