Really bad experience at this bar. I went there because blonde girl and her 2 guy friends in Stamford said it was a good spot. After I arrived, I noticed that they had come too. Blonde girl invited me to sit next to her after I actually suggested that I sit next to the dudes. I was planning on buying the next round for the group when the bartender said I needed to move over one bar seat because they had a “friend coming.” This was complete nonsense. There was no friend coming. The blonde girl then on the spot made up some story about how her “boyfriend” might be coming, but they really don’t know for sure. LOL wut? Shouldn’t she tell me that her “friend” is coming, not random bartender? Also, is it a bf or friend? Stories don’t match up. Comical at this point, and really just not fooling anyone... Then, bartender admitted that he thought I was talking too closely in her ear, and that it was like I was a “parrot” on her shoulder. The bar was loud- sometimes you have to move closely to talk. So sorry. No apologies from the bar staff, which I would’ve appreciated at the very least. Still tipped $20 for fun. Have fun at McShane’s, but don’t be a brown guy and try to talk to a blonde girl at the bar- you might have to move...
Read moreI didn’t have the best experience at mcshanes like other people seem to have. We got in and were seated pretty quickly. Our server was friendly and quite noticeably overwhelmed which I was sad to see. We got there with 30 mins left of happy hour. I got a rum and Coke ($4 well drinks for HH) and my bf got a HH beer ($5). Both were good. We also ordered a happy hour app (potato skins) which was $4 off of the normal price. We also got a burger and fries to split. It took 30 mins for our potato skins to come out and 45 for our burger! Obviously I was pretty annoyed about this. The potato skins didn’t really have any flavor and the burger was so small compared to the massive bun it came on. I didn’t love the fries (and at this point I think we all know how much I love fries). My bf also asked if they had a list of drinks on draught and she just brought him a random beer. We never got a chance to tell her this wasn’t what he wanted because she was running around too much. Luckily he said it was fine. Overall the drinks were cheap, but I don’t really think the food or wait was worth it. I’d definitely try something else if I were ever in...
Read moreI don’t normally leave bad reviews but had to make an exception. Went here about a year ago with underwhelming results but decided to give it another try since I like to support neighborhood businesses. Went in With my wife & decided to keep it simple. 2 burgers and fries one medium one medium rare. First off burgers are small and start at $16 and mine was $22 since I added cheese, mushrooms & onions. Hardly anyone in the place but still took over 30 minutes to get the burgers. They both came out charred. Called over the waitress who was great btw and she embarrassedly took them back. Took about another 20 minutes to get the new burgers and my wife’s came out medium well and mine was well done again! The only redeeming factor is that the fries were excellent. I should have only had the fries and my Guinness. The other thing is that my wife’s martini was $18. Way out of line for a pub. No wonder that no one was in this place. That’s strike 2 and I won’t be giving them a third chance as a run down looking pub with high drink prices and can’t get a burger right...
