A fantastic new family-owned Indian restaurant that just opened, bringing an exciting street food vibe to the area. As an avid lover of Indian cuisine who has sampled all the local spots over the years, I was thrilled to see unique options that aren't typically found around here.

My friend and I arrived late, around 8:30 PM, for some takeout. We had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful family who owns the place. They were incredibly welcoming and shared some delightful stories about the restaurant's origins. Their warmth and passion for their food really shone through.

Currently, the menu is concise but offers a wide range of delicious vegetarian dishes alongside some mouth-watering chicken and meat options. They mentioned that they plan to expand the menu soon, which is exciting news.

I decided to try the Chicken Kolhapuri, a new dish for me. It was absolutely fantastic—bursting with flavor, perfectly spiced, and generously portioned at a great price. I intended to save some for the next day, but it was too delicious to resist finishing in one sitting. Although my photos didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped (hunger won that battle), I'll be sure to take better ones next time.

I can't wait to explore the rest of the menu and try every dish they offer. It's wonderful to have such a unique and friendly addition to the neighborhood. I walked, but there is a parking lot adjacent to the restaurant which helps. Highly recommend...

Mumbai Katta in Port Chester is an absolute gem! This young restaurant has truly captured the essence of authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere that sets the stage for an exceptional dining experience.

The vada pav and misal pav are standouts—each bite takes you straight to the bustling streets of Mumbai. The vada pav is crispy and perfectly spiced, while the misal pav offers a delightful blend of flavors and textures that are simply irresistible. They also offer a variety of chaat options. Whether you’re a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian, the menu is thoughtfully curated with a diverse range of options that cater to all tastes.

What really sets Mumbai Katta apart is the attention to detail from the team. Their passion for delivering a great meal is evident in every dish, and the service is impressively quick without compromising on quality. Every item is crafted with care and it shows in the deliciousness of each bite.

If you’re in the Port Chester / Westchester / Connecticut area and craving some authentic Maharashtrian flavors, They also have a great selection of North Indian items. Mumbai Katta is a must-visit. This restaurant is definitely making waves, and I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly...

A Taste of Home: A Vada Pav Revelation

Tucked away in the heart of Mumbai, MUMBAI KATTA offers a culinary journey that transcends borders. The moment I stepped in, a wave of nostalgia washed over me. The decor, though simple, exuded a warm, homely charm.

But it was the vada pav that truly stole the show. The soft, pillowy pav embraced a spicy, flavorful vada with a satisfying crunch. Each bite was a trip down memory lane, transporting me to bustling Indian streets. The garlic chutney and fried green chillies complemented the vada pav perfectly, creating a symphony of flavors in my mouth. It was more than just a snack; it was a comforting embrace.

While the vada pav was the star, the rest of the dishes we tried: chicken 65, chicken chilli and chat dishes seemed very promising. I can't wait to return to explore more of their offerings. If you're craving an authentic taste of Mubai, MUMBAI KATTA is an...

From Westchester Foodies on FB: I didn’t have to twist Chandreyee and Hardik’s arms at all to get them to accompany me to Anita Gawde’s restaurant, Mumbai Katta, in Port Chester last night. (… even after they had already been numerous times over the last few months.) I am not an authority on Indian Food, but I trust these two with every fiber of my foodie being. I have dabbled in Indian and Pakistani food throughout the years and last night is tied for my top two favorite experiences. The first was a place called Dosa in SF. If you love Indian Food, visit this place soon. People from India are traveling hours to eat Anita’s food. The quality of the food and the service feel like you are an honored guest at Anita’s house. Even after trying a variety of gorgeous dishes, I walked out feeling satisfied, yet light, but also very happy? I had to Google whether Indian food can make you happy and it can! FYI it is BYOB.
