Was away with the husband on a getaway and this is one of the newer places in town. Small modern flare on the inside, a mix of Italian, American and oddly Japanese foods with reservations available which I would make those in the summer. Bathrooms are modern and clean up front. Looks like there is the opportunity to sit outside. The first impression was of the hostess team we had on the weekend in the evening and they seemed distracted and annoyed, however it was a little chaotic up front when we put in our name. Regardless first impression is everything. Putting this up front as many might not be aware, but because they are next to a church they do not have liquor on site, they can only do wine infused drinks. I had the mule which was mostly ginger tasting, and my husband had the lemonade which was very sweet and would probably be better without the wine infusion. They are known for their pasta and if you are going to do any dish there do their fresh made pasta. The sauce is rich and not too acidic and fresh made pasta just has a vibe you can’t always describe. It is delicious and their meatballs were good. We also had modest sized portions of the steak dinner and the beef ribs and I will say the beef ribs were tender and delicious, over whipped mashed potatoes. The veggies were mixed broccoli, cauliflower and carrots and honestly were not the best part as they seemed like I could make it at home. I was expecting more sautéed then steamed for a dish like that. However the beef and potato’s with the gravy were on point and the food was super hot. The steak is not something I would recommend until they figure out how to tenderize it. It was tough even at medium and tho I am not ever expecting steak house quality at an Italian fusion restaurant I do want to see some effort made towards steaks which are expensive. And if you like the taste of Worcestershire sauce then that may be for you but it was too prominent for me and frankly I think made the dish worse. The truffle fries that came with it were crispy and Parmesan crusted and probably the best part of the dish. Service for us was slow for us compared to others and I think it was because we had more of the complex dishes, versus the burgers and other pasta dishes I saw going out which looked good on the plates. They have sushi too which the locals have their own opinion about but the sushi rolls looked massive. The waitress that served us looked about as annoyed as the hostesses upfront but she lightened up by the middle of our experience. Dessert was their bread pudding and I suggest you do not get that to go like we did because it was a runny mess by the time we dug into it. Get it there. Would we go back? Maybe for the pasta and beef ribs, but everything else would be a...
Read moreMoro's Kitchen was probably the worst dining experience I have ever had. We had a reservation for 4 weeks before our arrival on Saturday night Aug 17. We had the reservation for 6 people at 7:00pm to celebrate my soon-to-be sister-in-law's bachelorette and were looking forward to an amazing dining experience and to show her a wonderful time. We arrived at 7:03pm. We were not sat until 7:19pm. Even though there were plenty of empty tables in the restaurant, we were sat at a table on the side of the building outside. It was rather breezy and getting chilly and dark out. 7:28pm now and we still haven't been greeted by a server. I got up and went back inside to ask what was going on and she finally came over. We asked if we could please move inside as we did not request an outdoor table to begin with when we made a reservation. The server told us it was not possible unless we were to go back in and wait at the host stand for another 20-30 mins until something cleared up, but said she would be sure to make up for the trouble. At this point we said we will just stay at our table since it was already 35 min into our time slot but please let us know if something opens up inside. The food took a very long time and now its not only super windy and freezing outside, it is also completely dark and there is no spotlights or string lights and we are just sitting in the dark alley shivering with no food and empty drinks. We finally got up and went inside to see if we could please move inside and there were only 3 tables sitting inside. I was floored. Why couldn't someone let us know there was an open table and we can move inside? At this point, the host was helpful and got us a table cleaned off, but the entire time we patiently waited for our table to be cleared our server was standing directly behind us laughing and rolling her eyes at us. At this point it is past 8:30pm. We finally get food, but have no silverware. Finally get silverware. The food was decent but not amazing or even worth the price or the wait. Our server comes back after 6 minutes with our plates, not to ask us how everything is or if we need anything, she comes back and says, "do you guys need boxes?" Are you serious? We still left a generous tip, but she was deeply undeserving of even a dime. If anything her tip should be getting re-trained so she never treats another customer like that ever again, or fired because she is a complete embarrassment to this establishment. We will never be back. This...
Read moreThis place was amazing!!!! It was my first time visiting; I was originally going elsewhere but saw this great little gem and thought how romantic it looked. The inside was very modern, rustic and clean. The staff was very friendly and when I asked if the the restaurant has been there a while was given a quick history lesson on the building from the host. Our waitress (I am horrible with names) was also very helpful when asked about certain items on the menu, and she also was amazing.
For the appetizer I ordered the beet bruschetta, I am not a huge fan of beets but this dish made them so amazing. There was an equal balance of earthiness and sweet, there was so much flavor every bite I was saying “yummmm!” For my main course I ordered the veal Francese, that too was delicious. It’s made a little different than what I am used to. But this is modern Italian cuisine, I didn’t take a picture. By the time I remembered I had devoured it. Then lastly I ordered the Affrgato for desert. It’s house made gelato with espresso poured over it at the table. I ordered the pistachio gelato, which was amazing.
Honestly I have nothing negative to say about Moro’s I think I found my new spot...
