Goods sold here are amazing! but like most people in the reviews section the customer service is severely lacking. during planning for our wedding a few weeks ago, I received an email (after our tasting and discussing what we’d like for our cake with the baker) stating they assumed we went with someone else for a cake, I was shocked and called immediately to sort things out. the reason given for the confusion was that we didnt put down a deposit, understandable, so at the end of the call I said “wait, what about the deposit” to which I was told that because the wedding was through the Sherwood Inn we didnt need one. Very confusing because that was the reason they thought we DIDN’T want the cake. Come the day of our wedding there was no sheet cake for anyone, just a 2 layer cake for us to cut. After the wedding I reached out to the baker to get clarification on what happened and was told their notes said there wasn’t supposed to be a cake for the guests. Very disappointed to be brushed off in that way especially for such a momentous occasion.
Edit: I didn’t leave this review to get anything out of it, I wanted to be honest with people looking to use this location in the future. Thank you for the response and proving my point by...
Read moreI recently ordered a carrot cake to celebrate a family birthday. The cake on the outside looked beautiful and well decorated however the cake and frosting tasted awful. The was clearly issues with the baking of the cake because once I cut into it you could see the unevenness of the cake was filled in with frosting, the bottom was burnt, and cake was tough to cut into. There was no moisture in the cake mix. In addition, the frosting was layered on thick, possibly to hide the poor turn out of the cake itself? The frosting was supposed to be cream cheese but was incredibly sweet. Even after letting the cake sit out of the refrigerator for some time it was still hard to cut into.I was excited to order from here as it was recommended by a colleague but will not return. I would have fathered an ugly cake that tastes good than a pretty cake that was...
Read moreI discovered Patisserie a few years ago. When traveling to visit my daughter, I go through Skaneateles. I decided on the way to her house I wanted to pick up some goodies at a bakery. I checked on Google to see where there was a bakery in Skaneateles and saw Patisserie was right off of rt 20 where I was traveling. I found it easily and was pleasantly surprised at what I found. A very large selection of pastries, cupcakes, muffins, cakes, and more. The scent of baked goods was delicious! Their "stretch bread" is so yummy and often when I picK that up in the morning it's still warm. Now every time I go to visit my daughter, I leave home in the morning so that I arrive at Patisserie just after the open. It's a very small place, plenty of parking. Sometimes there is a line out the door, but it moves quickly. And it's well worth...
