Aji 53 Services — Restaurant in Town of Smithtown

I have been ordering literally 75-100 dollars every 2 weeks for a long time. We have always enjoyed the food however, tonight it was terrible. I order the crispy duck salad and my husband orders crispy duck appetizer. Tonight, they must have run out of duck and instead of calling to tell me, they delivered a salad that was wilted and had maybe 4 or 5 pieces of skin in there and my husband had less then half the normal portion. When I called to complain, the 'manager' kept me on the line for 10 mins to tell me that they had to come pick it up to show it to the kitchen or he could only give me a 25% credit on the house. GIVE ME A BREAK. I spend hundreds of dollars here and they are willing to lose a customer for 17.00 worth of stringy duck and wilted lettuce. SMH where is customer service? They will lose a valuable customer for this. As I go through the other food tonight, the yaki udon is tasteless and pale, the sushi was fair at best. The rolls were tiny, just like the duck. Have been frequenting Aji since the Bayshore location first opened. Moved to Smithtown a few years ago and have been eating in and taking out from the Smithtown branch regularly ever since. Historically the quality has always been good, I feel in the past several months however there has been a decline in this location.

During a take out dinner this week we found the avocado in the tuna avocado salad to be brown spotted and past it's prime, the American dream roll had a chewy quality that was extremely unappetizing, and after eating one piece of her roll my wife found a long dark hair in her food.

I understand accidents can and will happen, but for a hair of this size to go unnoticed in a small takeout container is almost unbelievable, needless to say she did not finish her meal, we were both extremely disappointed and are unsure if we...

Decided to visit this place at the very last minute - we were able to get a table for 2 on a Saturday evening! The ambiance was lovely - they had some nice music playing - my husband wanted to watch the Chiefs vs Dolphins game, luckily we were seated opposite the bar and caught glimpses of the game while enjoying our food! Service was quick - Appetizer was delicious - Blue Crab Fajita ! I enjoyed my Basil Chicken and peanut avocado roll while Hubby dear enjoyed his Spicy Salmon roll - we were stuffed but little did we know we were in for a surprise!
