The Smithtown Library - Smithtown Building — Attraction in Town of Smithtown

The children section has great books and is accommodating well to covid 19 you get 15 minutes in the child section per family but if nobody is behind you they are generous and one time had a rainbow snack game to bring out since no toys are allowed for covid, they had the popular book I wanted about prosecutor of Jodi arias...security guy is so respectful especially to my daughter making sure the doors were opening when we walked through once because she's 2 ....and I love this library!!! Staff...

Great building and amazing choices of books BUT experience and attitude was terrible. I was blamed that a book was damaged with water and asked to pay fee of $26. If it was me I would pay. But it was not. I tried to explain to the librarian but she did not listen to me and kept blaming me. Very unpleasant experience. Besides that I see on my account fee for the lost book now....

I want to love this library, but it is just too noisy. The layout of the library creates a echoing, so no matter where you sit you always hear the reference desk employees talking. The lower level is quieter, but there is very limited seating. I thought I found a quiet spot, but the vent right above it transmitted endless conversation from another area of...
