I bought a Remington 700 sps tactical from Suffolk Sportsman in 2014. I was not aware of the xmp trigger recall at the time. The following week I saw a online article about it and I went to Remington's web site and entered my rifles serial # in and the only thing that came up on the screen was "this number has been entered into the system already, check back at a later date for more info". So I then called Suffolk Sportsman up and inquired about my rifle. I was told by ALLEN that the trigger recall was taken care of already by Remington before he sold me the rifle. Ok. So I put my rifle into my gun safe and it sat there until now when I am ready to start my build on it. Doing some more research on the Remington 700 and the trigger recall I saw that the way you can tell if your rifle has been retrofitted with the new trigger was by a punch mark on the bolt release. Low and behold my trigger does not have a punch mark. I called Remington directly and they inform me my trigger indeed needs to be retrofitted and they will be sending me out a box so I can ship my rifle to them for the retrofit. The issue I have with Suffolk Soortsman is that they KNOWINGLY SOLD ME A RIFLE THAT HAD A DEFECTIVE TRIGGER AND THEN LIED TO ME OVER THE PHONE THAT THE RETROFIT WAS DONE ON IT. Thank God I never even loaded the weapon and nobody got hurt or worse. So I hope everybody reads this review so you can see for yourselves what kind of people you will be dealing with at the Suffolk Sportsman. Stay clear...
Read moreCompany sells items on gunbroker and lies about the condition of the item. No action is possible on there to result in them being banned from selling so I am just getting the word out that they will not own up to their lack of professionalism.
I purchase a firearm not even close to the condition stated and lost money sending it back and forth as well as transfer fee just to have them give me a negative review on gunbroker when I did not wrong but pay the asking price for a unworthy item.
They have 14 negative reviews on there as well. So I am not the only one this has happened too. Just because the business was conducted over the net and not face to face should not allow them to be deceitful to buyers.
Alan G. is a liar and will not own up...
Read moreI left my father's FN Mauser 30-06 for them to sell on consignment years ago in 2010. When I went back last year to see what was going on, I saw it was no longer being displayed. Since then I've been trying to have them give me the status for the rifle, but they can't find their records. Each time I call or visit, I get a promise to look for it, but the promise is never kept. This last Aug. ,Sept. and Oct. I've called every week. No results. I have the original receipt and pictures of the gun in question. 11/1/17 update-owner John decided to pay agreed amount of money for the rifle. Too long a battle to get any progress. I never found out what happen to the rifle or what it...
