Looking for your next ramen spot? Look no further than @rakkiiramenny in Smithtown! 🍜 . Not only is the ramen delicious, (shown here the Curry Ramen) but their appetizers are a must try as well. The salmon which is grilled and crispy is topped with green onions and spicy mayo 😯 the pork dumplings were also a stand out! . With lots of different ramen, and non ramen options to choose from and a ROBOT CAT THAT SERVES YOU!? YES PLEASE! RUN DONT WALK TO THIS ADORABLE SPOT🐱🙌🏻 . . . #longisland #smithtown #rakkiiramen #ramen #noodles #sendnoods🍜 #noodles🍜 #spicy #suffolkcounty #soup #dumplings #onepiece #anime #japan #japanese #foodie #delicious #yummy #naruto #narutouzumaki #relatable #trending #taylorswift #ramen

My girlfriend and I recently went to Rakkii Ramen for lunch, this was our experience.

We were greeted immediately when we arrived and the staff was very courteous, and prompt. The a/c was on and very comfortable. Hand sanitizer seemed to be available at every table.

We sat down and ordered some appetizers. Steamed Chashu buns, squid tempura, and one of my favorite street foods, takoyaki which seems to be difficult to find on the island.

The squid tempura was delicious, and the accompanying spicy mayo suited it perfectly, our only complaints were that the squid was thinly sliced, and seems like a half portion was used as compared to when we order Ikayaki from other establishments. We were a little taken back by the chashu buns, there was only one thin slice of pork belly per bun, and the bun was more dense and wet than it was fluffy. However, the flavor was good. Last up, my favorite takoyaki. I was immediately disappointed by the size and portion for the $8 price it commanded. Five gumball sized pieces of takoyaki. In my experience with festivals and street food, takoyaki tends to be roughly the size of a golfball, if not larger, and served in larger quantities. Needless to say, I'm disappointed regarding the value of the apps. However, the octopus fried treats had good flavor, and was generously garnished with bonito flakes.

On to the main course! My girlfriend had the Tonkotsu ramen, while I opted for the spicy miso. The broth was good, and satisfied our craving for ramen. Unfortunately, the soft boiled eggs sitting our our broth were ice cold when they arrived at our table. We submerged them in hopes that they would warm up without over cooking the soft yolk. Though not our favorite, it is very respectable in flavor and richness. My only complaint is that the hot oil used for the spicy miso completely overpowered the flavor of the tonkotsu broth, without even offering the delightful aroma of chilies, it was simply hottness without flavor. We diluted my spicy miso with some of my girlfriend's regular tonkotsu, and this remedied our issue. I am no stranger to spice, I grow my own chilies, and make my own hot oil at home, I would definitely recommend a lighter hand with the spicy miso.

Overall, we were delighted with the attentive and friendly staff, and the flavor was on point. Our only take back was that we feel like we didn't get our...

This place has gone downhill. The Ramen is good, but the Pork is mostly fat and little meat. The biggest downturn for this establishment lies in their customer service. Months ago, they have gone to a system of having you place your order by using a tablet. I have been to other restaurants where this works efficiently, but it is inefficient at Rakki Ramen. Every time we use the tablet to order, we wind up having to ask for an employee to come over, because you aren't able to indicate things like a spring mix base, or "sauce on the side" for your tuna or salmon Zuke Don, and even after verbally letting the wait staff know about these easy requests, the orders still come out incorrect.

After my experience today, I will not return. I went in to order a salmon and tuna (combo) zuke don to go. When I asked the wait staff that was helping me today at 1:15 pm if I could please give him my order instead of using the tablet, he said "okay." When I ordered the salmon and tuna (combo) zuke don, he said, "you want a salmon skin roll?" I said again salmon and tuna (combo) zuke don, and he said, so you want one of each, to which I told him "No, I want the combo, which I get almost every time I dine in here." He said nothing and looked at me with a 1,000 mile-stare. I told him it is a "poke bowl," to which he had no clue to what I was referring, and questioned me by saying "poke bowl?". So I tried explaining it to him, and while he stood there staring at me, not saying a word and "buffering," I told him nevermind, and left.

I went next door and had lunch at javier's instead. Not every restaurant is perfect, and I know things happen, but there is a consistent pattern here, and today was...
