Marotto's — Restaurant in Town of Tonawanda

Two times I have stopped in to have dinner, and two times I have been overly impressed with the taste of food friendliness of staff and the family like atmosphere. I will be a long term customer......UPDATE! I've been back to moratto's a total of 5 times. that's the only amount of times I'll be there. My fifth time I brought my wife for her first time. It was the first time the food was not up to par oh, and it was the first time I was treated badly. My wife's visa debit card, due to it being out of country, her bank declined her card. The waiter at the bar ( Bob) came back to us through our card on the table and loudly told us your card was declined in a nasty tone of voice and facial expression. the other patrons at the bar stopped what they were doing and looked at us with disgust like we didn't have the money to pay for our food. we then pulled out our American Express credit card and paid for our food easily. he was extremely rude and disrespectful to myself and to my wife. I will not be back there again. sorry marotto's you had something going good with me but you ruined it by treating my wife...

The food was awful! I have heard great things about Marotto's so we thought we'd give it a try. We ordered take out through GrubHub on a Sunday afternoon. It was a little pricey, but I understand the fee for convenience. Unfortunately the food was barely edible. I got the Fettuccine Alfredo, which was $27. There wasn't an option to add a protein, but for that price I had figured it must have chicken or at least vegetables. It had neither and the sauce was terrible! It was loaded with raw onions...no garlic, just the white onion slices. The portion was tiny for $27. Not that I really wanted more. My boyfriend got the spaghetti and meatballs. There was hardly any sauce on the overcooked pasta and the meatballs had very little flavor. His dish was $13 and larger than my alfredo. We will never order from there again or visit the location. Excellent affordable fine dining!

One of the others reviews here had the following to say and I wanted to clarify this for them:

"I would not take any of these reviews too seriously. They sound like they were written by the owner as they all mention his name. How many people do you know that refer to the owner by name when they write a review?"

The reason whey everyone knows the owner by name is because he greets each and every guest that comes into his restaurant either at the door or by stopping by their table.

My wife and I have been coming here for years because the seafood is excellent (as are the Italian dishes) and it's affordable and they have great bar...
