Porter's Place Sports Bar — Restaurant in Town of Tonawanda

Don’t be deceived by the outside of this place. We stopped in yesterday for their .50 wings, but were admittedly cautious upon entering. The old adage “don’t judge a book by its cover” proved to be relevant as we walked inside to a well-organized, pristine, vibrantly painted establishment full of customers of all ages. The staff was friendly and welcoming, particularly our bartender. We sat at the bar and ordered hot wings and a small fish fry. I’m almost hesitant to rave about the fish fry because we all know how difficult it is to get into a place that serves a good fish fry this time of year. However, I simply must. What was a small fish fry was easily a large fish fry — a generous portion of haddock and fries with slaw and choice of mac salad, tuna mac, or potato salad. The real highlight however was how crispy the batter was on the fish. It was without a doubt the crispiest fish fry I’ve ever had. We came into a quiet bar, which got quite noisy when a couple of groups came in. I would recommend going in the back and getting a table. The menu is very limited. The wings were decent sized. Their hot isn't really super hot. At .50 a wing, though it sure beats paying 15 bucks for a single. ( Remember when a single was 12 wings?) The rest of the menu is skimpy. Fries, fingers, pizza logs, and a couple of other things. We are going to try the fish fry. At two for $18.95, it's worth at least a try They do need to advertise more . We never even knew they were open until we drove by and saw the .50 wings banner...

Why does this place have such major plumbing problems ? The bar area is always flooding and dangerous for customers to walk in. Poor customer service, the bar counter is always dirty. No one offering to clean it. The location is great but as a maintenance person of various properties you make sure everything is in proper working order. Not allowing weeks to go by to clean it making sure everything is properly maintained, in working order. It's a wonder why this place has had so many establishments over the years.
