As of 8/19/24, I was celebrating a family members birthday and the experience was a disaster.
We arrived around 9:15pm. There was no hostess. So, I said hello to another server and he seated me. There were only a couple of people in the restaurant since it closed at 10pm
The waitress came over and took our order. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo with salad and for my family member the unlimited soup, salad and bread sticks.
The salad, soup and bread sticks arrived right away. My family member didn't enjoy the soup so I decided to have their order and they had mine.
I had wanted a refill of water and didn't see my waitress. So, I decided to get up and asked a busboy for a refill.
After that, I had finished my soup and wanted a refill. I saw the waitress and asked her for more. My family member also wanted a different salad dressing.
The waitress then went to another table to take care of them. Needless to say, I never got my soup. So, I get up a second time, now I'm upset. I tell the bartender about my issues and need to speak to a manager.
As, I get back to the table, my waitress confronts me and tells me "she has other people to take care of"! I reminded her that she forgot to bring me the soup.
The manager comes over and tries to make my situation better. At this point, I can't enjoy myself and just ask everything to go. He ends up crediting me for one meal.
During this time, another waitress assisted us She was extremely friendly and caring. I did leave a small tip since I was compensated.
I used to love eating at this restaurant chain. I still love the food. Next time, I'll either sit at the bar and eat or do takeout.
As of 8/9/23 The food is always excellent. I had the lasagna, salad and bread sticks.
The service was bad. My server took at least 5 minutes before coming toy table when I first sat down. I needed a refill and had to ask another waitress for help.
One of my biggest petpieve is when the server does multitasking and I get put last instead of first. I had asked for a container and my bill. But, on her way to the kitchen she greeted a new table and took their drink order. Then, she was gone for a bit. And, I saw her carry out a tray with drinks and my to go to containers. She then stopped and gave the drinks out and then decided to take their order. Now, I'm getting pissed off. She finally came over but didn't bring the bill. I asked to speak to a manager. I told him my situation and that the food was excellent but the service was bad. He stated that next time I come to ask to speak to him or another manager to ensure...
Read moreOur waiter was terrible, her name was Roxann. I was with a party of three for lunch and we ordered two lasagnas and a spaghetti with marinara sauce. And two bowl of chicken gnocchi and one bowl of minestrone soup. We ordered our drinks and they came with barely any ice in them (we ordered two lemonades and two waters). Then, she took our order. We just wanted to order soup and breadsticks and enjoy that before getting our actual meal. Well we didn’t get that, our soup came and she (Roxann) told us that our main coarse meal was ready, that wasn’t what we had asked for and she should’ve already known that (that’s how it works). Then she told us how she feels sorry for herself and she’s 65 years old (she did not need to tell us that, weird and rude). We had all wanted to have two bowls of soup, we did but while we were eating those, our bowls of pasta and lasagna were sitting on the heaters. Then when she finally (like FINALLY) brought our food out, the spaghetti with marinara was spaghetti with meat sauce. Not what we had ordered again… so I told her and she went back and again took ages to bring it back. We ate and one of my party members said their lasagna was dry (it looked it too) and said it wasn’t very good. Roxann barely came around to assist us and when she did she was quiet and didn’t really care. She only had two tables we was waiting on and yet she still took a very long time to assist us. She never apologized for her service or food quality. We did talk to a manager type person (he wasn’t really the manager) and we explained our bad experience to him. He gave us a $40 gift card. We probably won’t be back and we will look for other Olive Gardens in Rochester to go, Olive Garden has amazing food (or it used to) but this has gone downhill. All in all, our experience at this Olive Garden wasn’t...
Read moreI don't know if it's just me, but the Olive Garden chain as a whole has gone down in the past few years. I went here this past Saturday at 4pm (right before the dinner rush), and right off the bat the service was not very good. We had only waited 20 mins for the table which isn't a problem, but after we were seated and our drink/food order was taken, it took them twenty more minutes to come back and give us our soup and salad and breadsticks which is an awfully long time to wait for pre-frozen breadsticks and a bowl of salad. Our waiter then asked us if we would like any dipping sauces for the breadsticks (without informing us of any extra charge), which my girlfriend and I were sucked into and received a tiny portion of marinara sauce that costed almost $4 and waited another 15 minutes for. When our meals had finally come out, we were both initially surprised about how good they looked, but I shouldn't speak too soon: I ordered the braised beef and tortelloni which is an all-time favorite of mine, but the balance of richness and mushrooms overpowered the entire thing. I couldn't eat more than a third of it, and I have never not finished a meal before. My girlfriend ordered the tour of italy, consisting of a small portion of lasagna, alfredo linguine, and chicken parmesan. The first mistake they did was with the lasagna: the restaurant uses crimped lasagna noodles which made the entire piece of lasagna dry, and was overwhelmed with more meat than sauce. The alfredo wasn't bad and neither was the chicken parm, but the chicken had no seasoning other than the bland sauce and cheese on top. Only come here if you have a gift card that someone gives you, otherwise scratch this one off your list. This goes for each restaurant...
