Arrived 6:23pm. Told hour to hour & 10 minutes wait. For a Saturday night at prime dinner time that was reasonable so we waited. They were very busy. Called to sit about 7:30pm. On spot with their wait time estimation. That was good.
We ordered right away because my husband is an early bird and our daughter needed to get to bed too. Food came reasonably quick. Didn't note exact time, but I would say about 8pm. That was also good!
Sadly, disappointed. We've eaten at LongHorn Steakhouses before and had better food so we were really bummed about our food this time. Here comes the not good part... My husband's Tbone was very very fatty and tasted like nothing... maybe rubber. My daughter ordered a 6oz filet Medium Well and I ordered a 8oz filet Medium. To look at them upon arrival, they appeared about the same size. I know they with them before coming but you would think that changes or any shrinkage would be more in the medium well steak. Mine was slightly thicker. Mine was also charred which was concerning because mine was Medium and my daughter's was Medium Well. Here's appeared just cooked. I thought maybe they mixed them up? When we cut them, mine was red in the middle and hers was not so I guess you could say they were correct. My daughter (who I call "salt girl" jokingly because she likes salt more than she should) immediately said, "Oh! This steak is really salty!" So I immediately tried mine and she was on spot. I examined my steak closely because surely the meat must be old and they were EXTREMELY over salting it to hide something. I can not imagine anyone enjoying that steak unless they like to eat salt by the spoonful. You literally could not taste the steak at all. Remember how I said my husband's is an early bird and my daughter needed to get to bed? We were starving at this point too so that made us decide not to say anything. Let's just eat and get out of here. That was the plan until about half way through my steak. My daughter about a third of the way through her steak. We both said we couldn't eat another bite of that salt cuz we were disgusted. Mr. Early Bird wasn't happy we couldn't hold to our plan to just eat it and get out of there. $21 & $28 for filets and not even close to finishing them? He complained! The waitress was very nice. Said she would bring us new steaks in 15-20 minutes. Left the sides and just took the steaks so we could eat something while we waited. The manager was even nicer. Very apologetic. She did say the new cook was trained somewhere else and not used to conservative upstate NY. Forgot where she said but that he was from where "they prefer a more bold taste with lots of seasoning." Hmmm... maybe but I don't think Chef Ramsay would call it "bold" at all. Either way because of the waitress and especially the manager, I brought my what would have been a 1 star back up to a 4 star rating. The manager offered us a free side while we waited. We didn't get any but the offer was nice. They brought us new fresh sides with our new steaks that were not over salted at all. They only charged us half price for our filets. My husband did get a dessert on the house while we started to eat our new filets.
We were out of there by 9pm. Considering they were busy and we had food taken back that was excellent speed.
The reason I dropped their rating back to a 3 star is because we brought most of our steaks home. When I ate the rest of my filet for lunch on Sunday, it had a lot of fat in the 2nd half. My daughter's did not have the fat mine did. The reason we always order filets is because we do not like fat. I shouldn't have to cut any grizzle out of a filet. I started to think I got a sirloin or something but it was tender. I concluded it was just a low...
Read moreHave been to this particular Longhorn many times for lunch and dinner and have NEVER experienced such a bad experience as we did on July 3rd. We were very hungry and stopped in for a nice meal sometime before 2:45-3. When we came into the restaurant is was strangely quiet and no hostess was at the podium which clearly said,”please wait for hostess to seat you” we waited several minutes and finally someone came out, seated us and said our waitress would be right with us. At least 10 minutes later our waitress came out and was clearly flustered and trying to please the first table. Several minutes later she came over and took our drink order as we waited and waited, dropped off our drinks ( a lemonade and ice tea) and said she’d be right back to take our order. Then went to table 2 and took their order and clearly they had been waiting too. As she walked away to place their order, one of the women blurted out something additional to add to order. As we were seated, the hostess proceeded to seat other customers as the arrived but was constantly going into the back. Everyone could hear laughter from the kitchen whenever she or the waitress went into the kitchen. Clearly these 2 were the only employees within our site. Orders given, customers walking out because they weren’t seated and were waiting and waiting and a waitress confrontational with that customer. FINALLY a young lady was in the back of restaurant talking to the waitress which appeared to be a discussion re: staffing. The hostess NEVER stepped up until asked once to get drinks. We finished our drinks and bread and as we came to an HOUR, the manager on came over and asked if we wanted more bread and my husband politely said what had been going on. The manager apologized and offered to get us more bread and check on our order. A BURGER AND SALAD SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN AN HOUR! We left an went to another restaurant and were served a hot delicious meal within 15 minutes of arrival! The point is, There were less than 15 people there and a good waitress could have multitasked better, a hostess should be properly trained to pick up the slack and management SHOULD HAVE had their finger on the pulse before an hour. There is no excuse in the competitive food industry for anyone to have this kind of service. We’ll just continue to take our...
Read moreNot advisable for parties of 5 or 6! Management intentionally understaffed the restaurant. Took 2 hours to receive entrees, even our toddler who communicated she was hungry. Food was stale, unevenly cooked, and incorrect. Despite complaining (politely, IMO) that our wait was long for both table and food plus the mistakes, a manager could not be bothered to visit us (or wasn't even there.) On the night we visited, a wait time of 30 minutes was quoted. The 5 of us were sat in 58. Checked in 2 times with a greeter who explained that most 4 tops call ahead and that 6 person tables get collapsed to seat them while parties of 8 or more all have guaranteed reservations. No tables are left for 5 or 6 people, who are not allowed to call ahead. First food (including a stale salad and the wrong soup) hit our table 25 minutes after ordering. 15 minutes after that the steaks ( burnt, raw, and incorrectly topped) arrived. The entrees ( including a toddler's microwaved Mac n cheese) were finally served more than 2 hours after we entered the restaurant. It must be said that our server was great and did his best to make things right. (Overheard servers discussing the intentional understaffing they were trying to overcome causing them to have little means to satisfy many complaining customers.) In the end, our server never got the manager to take the failed steak off our check so he put an employee discount on himself. Never saw a front of house manager in the 3 hours we were there. Just saw food being sent back and tables going uncleaned for 20 minutes. Our total time for a party of 4 plus a toddler to eat a meal on par with Applebee's was over 3 hours and the cost was over $100. Will not return to any...
