Bakery Plus — Restaurant in Town of Wallkill

I have fallen in love with this bakery. I needed a birthday cheesecake for my bf and he sent me here. He had 3 top picks.. 1. Mango cheesecake, 2. raspberry cheesecake and 3. Strawberry shortcake (in that order) I'm going to be honest I like cheesecake but my favorite is strawberry shortcake. And I thought he was crazy for his order of favorites... until I went in. First of all, they were really diligent about social distancing which I greatly appreciate. 2 guests allowed inside at a time with mandatory masks. Thank you for caring about your customers and keeping us safe. Second of all.. walking in this bakery was like the heavens opening up and sun shining in the room. The cases full of every cookie, cake, cheesecake you can imagine... I literally wanted to buy EVERYTHING. I had a nice chat with the very friendly owner/person behind the counter. She was super nice and helpful to me. As far as my order.... the mango cheesecake only came in a mini cake size, the raspberry cheesecake came in a 7" size so I went with that..and yes.. I HAD to get 2 slices of strawberry shortcake for myself too. The strawberry shortcake was very light and has fresh strawberry throughout the layers... but the star of the day was that raspberry cheesecake.. OMG! Never thought I would say anything was better than shortcake but this raspberry cheesecake was the truth!!! I will be back soon as I find a reason to have another...

We have been buying Our Sons Birthday Cakes here for the past 17 years!!! They are Hands Down the BEST CAKES you will ever get or find anywhere around here!!! For the past 17 years every year without fail we have somone or multiple people ask where we got the cake from because they Absolutely love it that much and the rest of the people including my sons look forward to it every single year. They will not eat any other cake!!!! The Owner is Absolutely Amazing and I fully admire her Dedication and Passion she has. If you've never tried one of her Cakes or Deserts you are missing out. There's nothing else that can ever compare to a Baker Plus Cake. Soo if you haven't visited this little Gem run there now and You can Thank me later after your guests are Raving over your cake for the next year straight, literally!! No joke. My visit was surprisingly better than I expected. I arrived late just before closing hoping they would have a few things left for sale. Happily, they had a little of everything. They have so many choices available that deciding what to get was my only stumbling point. I chose several individual cakes plus some Black & White cookies I wanted to put to the "test". I went home wondering how they would all taste. I had my answer as soon as I took that first bite. It was delicious, soft and fresh tasting with that signature sweet moist cake scent. The icing was a thin evenly spread creamy layer that tied it together! The individual cakes were all equally tasty and fresh and all had the appearance of small works of art! What made this entire feat extra special was the level of quality and freshness of the pastries at this time in the evening before closing.
