Joey's Pizza (Middletown) — Restaurant in Town of Wallkill

This is going to be a unique review because this restaurant has basically done a complete flip flop under new ownership. Let me explain that under the previous ownership and management the place was dirty , the bathroom being completely not taken care of. The employees were inattentive and some came across disrespectful how they talked to co-workers and to customers. The prices were on the high side but not out of this world but the food was consistently good. Now for the new ownership , they did a great job fixing the place up and painting it a much brighter color. The place is much cleaner and the bathroom was super clean and well taken care of. Totally different employees and they were very friendly and respectful creating a good atmosphere. The menu is now much cheaper, very affordable prices but this leads me to the negatives; the food quality was very underwhelming pepperoni pizza was extremely greasy with a very salty flavor. Hawaiian pizza had very dried ham and almost no pineapple along with being very salty. Jamaican beef patty was dry and tasted old. Cold cut hero should have been named shredded lettuce hero as 80 percent was lettuce with very little meat on it. The cook doesn't know how to make a sandwich either as the meat was folded in the inside so one bite and all the lettuce, tomato, and onions fell out. The roll itself was good but poorly made. Now I know why the low prices. I can't recommend this place unless you are on a tight budget and need...

Oh my God, this place is amazing. We're from Canada and came to Middletown for a trip to lego land and we were starving after being in the park all day in 94 degree heat. We had no idea what to do for dinner and we just called joeys on a whim. Best decision ever. They have the best food I've eaten since I left home. We way over estimated how much we needed, we got 2 insulate Toscana salads with Italian dressing, a extra large joeys pizza ( back home we'd probably call it a works ) and 2 orders of garlic knots. It was the best salad I've had ever in my life. Fresh greens, real fresh mozzerella, roasted red peppers, chicken breast marinated in something dark and delicious. We devoured that first.The pizza is enormous but so good and the knots are more like full size fresh made rolls with real garlic and butter and pizza sauce. And it was super affordable! We got all that and only paid 64 and change! The delivery guy was wonderful too, so nice, so helpful. Made sure he put all of our huge order out for us. This place went from "never ate there" to one of my favorites in one weekend. I was in the area visiting family and decided to venture out for the day on my own to do some Christmas shopping. I stopped in there and ordered the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. Hands down the best vodka sauce I have ever had (and i've had lots). Huge portion, salad, loaf of break and very reasonably priced. Service was top notch too. Before leaving I decided to take a closer look at the menu. The "pasta creations" section sounds amazing and I wish I lived closer to try all of these menu options. One of them is "riggies". This is a dish from my neck of the woods in Utica NY. I've never had it outside of Utica but somehow this place in Middletown has perfected it. I know that because I went back the next day and got some to go, along with a slice of pizza just to see if their pizza was as good as the other dishes. What do you know.... it was! I highly highly recommend this restaurant and cannot wait to be back in town and eat...
