Start your day right with delicious stuffed bagels at this Woodstock breakfast spot! @MoonriseBagels

Got a BEC plain bagel, Reuben everything bagel, and the Peach Cobbler monthly special. First of all, the Bagels themselves were all of high quality, as well as the ingredients in the Reuben. I will say that the everything bagel might be a touch too salty, but I did still enjoy it. The plain BEC is a better candidate is probably a better go-to if you visit often. Second, I actually have no qualms with the price. You get high quality ingredients with protein options so this kind of breakfast is not only unique, but very filling. I think some folks might be comparing the cost of just a regular bagel to the cost of these, which isn't really apples to apples- which brings me to my next point... Third, other than the bagel itself, the Peach Cobbler was a disappointment. The filling was really just chunks of whole peaches and the crumb topping didn't reflect the sweetness of peach cobbler at all. I'd suggest to the owner that instead of whole peaches, the bagels be filled with a peach puree of some sort. It'll allow you to fill up the bagel more and be more representative of a cobbler. Don't be afraid to make it sweet, we understand it's meant to be more of a fruit pastry than a breakfast sandwich. Overall, I'd recommend Moonrise to anyone traveling to or through Woodstock for breakfast. I don't think I'd go out of my way for them, but I do think there are real opportunities to go from good to excellent.

I saw this place on the Today Show, and thought, cool concept! If I'm ever up that way, I'll stop in! Well, we did. Unfortunately, they were out of almost everything. I realize we were later than we thought, so we went with the flow. We asked about our options. The girl at the register seemed to have absolutely no knowledge about any of the products. Another girl came out and offered the option that they had frozen 3 pks. available. We decided that we would do that. When we proceeded to check the varieties they had, there were many packs with no labels. Apparently, they had gotten wet in the freezer from people opening and closing them. It was also strange that this was a slide top freezer, and it was also filled with ice packs. We asked if they were for sale, as some places offer (we were traveling), you would have thought we asked something inappropriate! Cashier again. None of the labeled pkgs were what we wanted, so we asked if they could open one to see. We said we would still purchase it. The answer was no. They said they couldn't because they were frozen. Ummmm, okay. Were they just going to throw them out? I'm just baffled about the whole situation. The owners on the show were part of the reason we stopped. I loved their story and concept. They may have to be more involved or give the proper training to their employees. We did, however, still make a purchase. Needless to say, it was almost closing time, and we couldn't leave quick enough for them. We had questions, but we were not rude or...

OKAY. It has taken me DAYS to stop salivating/happy crying over how absolutely DREAMY the stuffed bagels are so I can write this. I am a chef and i KNOW my food, and sandwich ratios are always a point of contention with me. Not here. You know how when you try to eat a bagel sandwich with a ton of your favorite stuff and it all slides around and is a crazy mess? NOT HERE. Stuffed bagel means everything stays intact and inside each bite in perfect ratio. Stuffed bagel means you don't feel like blacking out from carb overload after because instead of a bread center it is a delicious stuff center. AND I tried a bunch thinking surely some would be greasy by nature. NOPE. By some sort of kitchen witchery these folx have managed to make a Rueben stuffed bagel that is the perfect level of moist (i love that word, it means great things, sorry not sorry) and that is also outstanding, maybe even better, if you get busy at work whilst eating it and eat half of it cold later in the day. I would marry this bagel. I am starting to twitch from withdrawals from this bagel thinking about it to write this. I can't remember what else I was supposed to do today. Must get more stuffed bagels. Eggplant. Lovely. Dreamy, even. Buffalo Chicken, amazing, and i dont even LIKE chicken, its usually dry and a weird texture. Not here! BEC? UM DO NOT GET ME STARTED. Just go get one...
