The Mud Club Woodstock — Restaurant in Town of Woodstock

I don’t know if what I write here will qualify as a review, because what I want say is so much than that. This place serves the best espresso & cappuccinos in NY State. No exaggeration. And for anyone slightly skeptical- yes I have sampled every single cafe in the state! (Maybe) But that aside the bagels are also outstanding. Most of all and perhaps this explains the prior comments, the people here care not just about their food, but their customers. I would say they probably just care period. Without disclosing details, some staff here went out of their way to perform a altruistic gesture for a stranger that, for a much needed & brief moment, restored my faith in humanity. Best day-made pastries short of Paris, best coffee around as well, not to mention the best wood fired bagels short of Montreal. Worth every dollar, every time. Also worth noting, this is one of the few businesses that I have visited that truly follow an environmental ethos; all biodegradable cups and straws, no single use plastics, and the alternative dairy products they offer free of charge cant be found elsewhere. only issue is you might have to request the Hemp or other, if it’s not on the dairy station. Stopped here for breakfast and coffee this week, ordering process was difficult as they were out of various things and I had to keep clarifying my order to the cashier because each item was getting input as something I didn’t say. I felt that $6 for a plain bagel with cream cheese and a croissant breakfast sandwich for $14 to be a bit high for what I’m getting, even though it’s a touristy area other coffee shops were better/more normally priced that we went to so I think it’s just here.
