A Fantastic Dining Experience at Himalayan Kitchen
My visit to Himalayan Kitchen was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I arrived, everything about the experience was seamless and enjoyable.
Parking & Accessibility Finding parking was incredibly easy, with a spacious and well-maintained lot nearby. For those who prefer street parking, there were plenty of spots within a short walking distance. The area was also well-lit and safe, which was reassuring for an evening visit.
In terms of wheelchair accessibility, the restaurant was accommodating, with ramp access, wide doorways, and ample space between tables for easy movement. The staff was also very helpful, ensuring that guests with mobility needs were comfortable.
Kid-Friendliness Himalayan Kitchen is definitely a family-friendly restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a relaxed setting that made dining with kids easy. They offered high chairs and a variety of mild, kid-friendly dishes, such as fluffy naan, vegetable fried rice, and lentil soup. The portion sizes were generous, and the staff was patient and accommodating with families.
Dietary Restrictions & Menu Options One of the highlights of the meal was the variety of options available for different dietary needs. As someone who values flexibility in food choices, I was impressed by the vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options on the menu. The staff was knowledgeable about ingredients and happy to accommodate special requests.
Vegetarian & Vegan: There were plenty of flavorful plant-based options, from dal (lentil soup) and chana masala (chickpea curry) to vegetable momos and sautéed greens. Gluten-Free: Many of the curries and rice dishes were naturally gluten-free, and the restaurant was happy to recommend safe choices. Dairy-Free: Dishes made with coconut milk or tomato-based sauces provided great dairy-free alternatives. Nut Allergies: The staff took allergy concerns seriously, offering clear guidance on safe menu options. Spice Levels: Every dish could be customized to be mild, medium, or spicy, ensuring a comfortable experience for all. The Food & Overall Experience The food itself was absolutely delicious! I started with crispy vegetable samosas, followed by steaming hot vegetable momos served with a flavorful dipping sauce. For the main course, I enjoyed a plate of dal bhat, a classic Nepalese dish featuring lentil soup, rice, and a side of sautéed vegetables. The garlic naan was perfectly soft and paired beautifully with the curries.
The service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff making sure that everything was to my liking. The restaurant had a cozy, inviting ambiance with traditional Himalayan decor and soft music playing in the background.
Final Thoughts Himalayan Kitchen provided an incredible dining experience, combining great food, excellent service, and a welcoming environment. With easy parking, wheelchair accessibility, kid-friendly options, and accommodations for dietary restrictions, it’s a perfect spot for families, groups, and individuals alike. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a flavorful and stress-free...
Read moreWe go there because the food is good in relation to price, portion sizes, and quality. BUT, the staff is quite slow, and they have to be doing everything. The girls who take your order, serve, clean, attend to the counter, and charge you. We were there recently, and we had to ring the counter bell several times. A guy came out of the kitchen to take an order, didn’t greet us or talk to us, and instead of notifying that we were waiting, he just came back, and we were still waiting. Personally, seeing people work slowly gives me a lot of anxiety. They clean the table with the same gloves, throw out waste, and serve food with those same gloves. I mention this because I saw it. I would suggest that if a family comes with children, they should offer a highchair, because one family had to ask for it. They should give more napkins; the one they provide is not enough considering the texture of the food. They should have the option that if the customer orders, for example, 2 batura, they should be given without the option of Chana Masala and charge accordingly. The entrance glass should be clean more often; it's the first thing you see when you enter the place. Same outsider around, I do not know if this has to be wash by you guys, but this kind of things give an extra credit to the shop. We come here because I have the feeling that the food is fresh and the place is quite clean. I have been to others where I see dirty glass and I don't go in anymore. The staff should be more organized. There are only 2 girls and sometimes they are doing everything and don’t attend well, it’s not their fault. I will keep going because the food is great, but there are certainly thing that should be change in order to improve the services. Tracy needs this kind of restaurant's :) If the food will take an extra while, you could provide some tea or something in order to keep the costumer a little bit busy meanwhile the...
Read moreThe first time my partner and I came here was last week, and we had a wonderful experience. The service was on point, the food was delicious with good portions.
I am curious what the hell happened in a week? This is NOT the same restaurant or experience we were expecting. When we first got in there, the couple behind us was helped before us and we were completely skipped over. When we ordered, we were told about 30-35 minutes for our 2 orders of butter chicken and naan. We waited until about 50 minutes and then asked about our order. Another gentleman who came in after us and ordered got his food before us, they then said another 4 minutes as they were "bagging it up" my partner and I waited another HALF HOUR (27 minutes and change to be exact) for our food. When the gal came with it, she just sat it down with the dishes on their sides, looked at it awkwardly, and then just left. She went back to talking in the back corner by the kitchen doors like she had been since we had gotten there.
We checked our order when we got home and both of our butter chickens were mostly sauce with only four or five 3-4mm slices of chicken. You could fit the entirety of meat in the dish on one fork bite. This is NOWHERE NEAR worth the money we paid. Absolutely disappointing and I would expect far more from any food service establishment, ESPECIALLY one we were forced to wait an hour and twenty minutes for our food for. We are probably never coming here again, not without a SERIOUS turnaround in staff demeanor, food handling care, and...
