We live in TR and visited D Cafe’ last Saturday, their Grand Opening Day. It was such a wonderful experience! They had a DJ out front (smart) who got everyone’s attention walking or biking the trail nearby, they had beautiful balloon art out front and as we walked in, a sweet little lady passing by with samples of a custard cake that was to die for!!!! There was a very long line but it moved quickly and the cafe is so cute inside, we just took it all in and listened to the owners (family from Costa Rica) explain all the homemade goodies, pastries, cakes, empanadas, and coffee syrups they make by hand. Everyone waiting in line seemed so excited to try out what they had to offer and the place was buzzing with excitement, laughter and just an all around great vibe. I had the vanilla latte and a pastry, my husband had the chicken and the beef empanadas. First, let me say, the coffee was amazing! Full of flavor that knocked my socks off! I will not ever be returning to Starbucks, my gosh, I am in love with Costa Rican coffee and D Cafe’s homemade vanilla syrup only made the coffee better, in a sweet, smooth, deeper kind of way. The pastry was like a pillow in my mouth, so yummy, and my husband said the empanadas reminded him of his home in Tampa, though he said they were a little dry, but it was opening day so he wants to try them again in the future. I could tell that The family that owns this business are all very close, you could just see it as they interacted with each other, they really put their love and hearts into this endeavor and I know they are being rewarded for all their hard work. I will be back at least once a week for that delicious coffee and maybe try to find another piece of that amazing custard cake I can’t stop...
Read moreFirst time coming in and I am already blown away!! I love seeing a new coffee shop in TR and whenever one opens I have to go. First of all? The interior was so cozy!! I loved the vines hanging on the walls and the soft dark feel around the place, it's very small but I think that adds to the charm. The service was also phenomenal, the workers were all so incredibly nice and I love supporting new businesses so I'm so happy to know it's run by such good people. The taste of everything was also amazing!! I got the chicken empanada for college and before I even got there it was all gone! The latte I got was amazing too! It's so nice to find a budget friendly cafe around here, and with decaf options! My boyfriend is Puerto Rican and I HAVE to take him here

We had the chicken and beef empanadas as well as a sample of their “corn bread” all was AMAZING 😍
I got a dirty chai and when I tell you it was the best dirty chai I’ve ever had, I’m being serious. The chai is made from real tea leaves, none of that sugary powder you find at other places. We also got a vanilla lavender latte which was delicious as well!
The design of the building is cute, quaint, and modern, with a fun twist on their decorations that I loved! You have to stop in and see their photo wall 😄
I can’t wait to see what else they do here...
