Randy's Diner — Restaurant in Traverse City

Drove into town and was recommended this place for breakfast. It was busy but they said sit where available. I picked a small table towards the back because I was a single.

I sat there for 20 mins. While I was there, 2 waitresses came by and took orders for other tables. I smiled and was patient. Another table of 3 sat down, a waitress shows up to them within 5 mins and takes their drinks and food order.

At this point I move to another table in the middle of the room because no one was helping me. 5-10 mins to get my order taken. Waitress apologized and got my drinks. I ordered shortly after.

My first omelette came 15-20 mins after ordering. Wrong omelette. I ordered the veggie delight and it was the traditional with ham and such. I returned the food. 10 mins go by and another plate comes out. STILL NOT THE OMELLETTE I ORDERED. I’m looking for a hash brown omelette which is what the veggie delight was.

Waited another 10 mins to talk to the waitress and nothing. I got up, gave them my ticket and stated, this was an absolutely horrible experience. I couldn’t believe how poorly everything was handled...

Short version: Would return for the food and waitress’s service but was put off by terrible service at the very end by April

Went in on a Saturday afternoon. Food was delicious and service by the younger waitress with brown hair (maybe Elaine?) was great. She was friendly and attentive.

Service from (April/Amber?) the blonde staff member was poor. She was incredibly rude to both me and our waitress, rolling her eyes and acting like I was inconveniencing her for just trying to check out. She let some guy go before me even though I was standing at the front waiting to pay long before he came up there. It felt like she was pretending not to see me. When handed her my recipes I asked her if I could check out she said “Yeah, you can, but are you going to give me any money?” I felt very disrespected throughout the entire interaction and I hope that she was not a supervisor because I could tell she was also making the other staff uncomfortable.

Kindness goes a long way! If you don’t have the patience or pleasant demeanor for interacting with customers idk maybe don’t work in...

First time here since I live an hour away. I heard this restaurant advertised on Christian radio so wanted to give them my support. I was impressed with the quick seating. I have been in the restaurant industry for over 35 years as a server so I understand this business. They were very busy so the food took longer but to be expected. I ordered the waffle with strawberries, ham and scrambled eggs. Everything was top notch! The berries were fresh and not in heavy syrup. They provided a side of raspberry syrup which was a really nice compliment to the malty waffle. The ham was above average quality and flavor. The waitress kept my coffee cup full, checked back on me, and prebussed the table right away. Very good experience and I would return again. Much variety...
