$$ Today, I ventured into "Titan's Kitchen" in Troutdale, hoping for a nostalgic taste of my aunt's Peruvian cooking. Let's just say it was a culinary adventure that left me somewhere between amused and puzzled. I bravely ordered the "LOMO SALTADO," a quintessential Peruvian delight. But surprise, it came with yellow rice instead of the traditional white! For those not familiar with Peruvian cuisine, that's a quirky twist.
As I dug into this fusion creation, it hit me like a llama's sneeze - there wasn't a Peruvian chef in sight! No hard feelings, but it seems this place is all about fusion rather than authentic Peruvian goodness. Hey, they should totally rebrand as a Peruvian/Fusion food cart! Ordered the lomo saltado sandwich, chicharon sandwich and fried plantains. We also got the hot sauce on the side since their online ordering system did not give me the option to change it. Lomo saltado was pretty salty and but at least it had flavor and varying textures unlike the chicharon which was sadly lacking in both flavor and texture. It was boring, one note and mushy. Maybe I need to try the original cart. I just could not agree with any of the 5 star reviews.
I'd only come back for the fried...
