Overall good experience and definitely worth checking out! Let's start with the great: The place is huge and amazing and has a lot of character. The vibe reminds me very much of the old Farrell's in Portland from when I was a kid, just much less chaotic! It has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere and the service we received was fantastic. The employees were very friendly and helpful. There's easy parking all around there and the restaurant main floor is also ADA friendly and easily accessible. I was very pleasantly surprised by the food as well. The menu is simple, but what they make is really good quality and tastes great. My brother had the Reuben Dog and a Rootbeer Float. He said the float had "legit, great vanilla ice cream", and the hotdog was really good as well with lots of bacon! I switched things up a bit for them and said, "Can you make something that comes close to a Sub-Club Sandwich?" Totally not on the menu. Yes. I AM that pain in the ass guy ;) jk Actually, I was pretty sure I was going to write a positive review the minute I walked in the door just from the vibe, so I wanted to see what they had to say, and the answer was "No problem" and a HUGE, delicious sandwich arrived that I could only eat half of! I had the very affordable chips and refillable soda add-on to my sandwich and also added an Oregon Chai tea to my order. Everything exceeded expectations and was incredibly affordable! I had no room left for treats or ice cream, but it all looked fantastic and the Sundae and Banana Split! options were hard to resist.
Wishlist? Restaurants are a tough business, but this one has some fantastic elements to build on and I really want it to do well. It could easily be the next Farrell's! Plenty of room for birthday parties, and big gatherings for fantastic sundries, desserts and drinks. I think they could do really well by adding basic grill items like burgers and such and actually grow the business as a great place to have dinner as well. They also could use a basic, affordable, "marketing nudge" to become more well known and easily found on the web. Definitely worth going out of your way to...
Read moreStopped in 815 am solo on 6-1-25 on my last morning staying here in Troutsdale. I was greeted by a beautiful blue eyed dog that was more like a floor mat. So calm, loving, and pretty, loved seeing the local gentlemen visiting having their coffee. Instantly felt the home town feel. Google didnât bring up that this place had breakfast but noticed this place last night while walking. Decided to check out the inside and atleast get a coffee to go. The sweet young lady took my order. I ordered an iced coffee with almond milk and the Italian prosciutto avocado toast on gluten free bread that came with a small bundle of red grapes. (I hope itâs gluten free- other wise- Iâll feel the pain in about an hour) The egg was cooked correctly. The toast could use a light drizzle of balsamic or honey to compliment. There was sandwiches, wraps, salads, sweet treats/drinks on the menu. This place brought childhood memories with the rustic bar/seats and overall open space. Highly...
Read moreThey don't know how to make soda. We went just for the soda, so that was super disappointing.
They make soda the same way a batista makes coffee: first, they squirt syrup on the bottom of the cup and then ribbon it along the sides. Then, they add the ice and soda.
The problem is that the syrup gets cold on the bottom of the cup. Maybe the kind we ordered wasn't meant for soda, but it got hard and sticky. We couldn't stir it up at all.
I'll take this review down if the owner replies, but I thought customers...
