Leaf & Vine — Restaurant in Troy

I love the look of this place, unfortunately the service is terrible. Granted, the three times I’ve visited this place has been after 10pm, so I can’t speak to any other time of the day. But every time I’ve been there, the bartenders are more concerned with hanging out with their friends, than providing good service to patrons.

I’ve worked in food service in the past, and I know not to snap, or whistle, or yell. I stand at the bar, with the posture of needing service and patiently wait my turn. Well that doesn’t work here. They have looked me dead in my face and skipped over me and asked the person next to me what they’ve wanted. Once, I take it as an oversight. Twice? Now you’re just being rude on purpose. And this was every time I stepped up to the bar. The first time it happened, I just left. Realistically stood at the bar for 10 minutes and watched people get served around me who had came up after me. I never got a drink.

I came back twice because my friends wanted to go there, and it happened again, except they had to serve me cuz I was one of three people standing there. But always the last. I don’t understand why. Or what’s going through their heads, but it was frustrating enough for me to leave a negative review.

I’ll always give servers and bartenders the benefit of the doubt. And it’s unlike me to speak negatively about a restaurant’s service. But this has been a trend, and it would behoove the owners to know what their bartenders are making their...
