The restaurant is beautiful, but very crowded and and a bit organized. If you are eating in the dining you expect to have people waiting for their carry out orders hovering around you. We were a carry out order. We were from out of town on our way to a function. I happen to be Gluten Free (Celiac) Bakehouse offers all sandwiches either on a bed of greens or a GF wrap. I made the mistake of getting the GF wrap. The wrap was like cardboard and had a terrible flavor. In fact my turkey sandwich had literally only 2 slices of turkey on it therefore it had no flavor. My sandwich had only one slice of cheese and the raspberry mustard was only at the bottom of my wrap 😫. Sadly I paid $9.00 for this very sad wrap. It wasn’t worth it. When I pay this amount of money for a sandwich or wrap I expect much more meat and cheese. If you are GF I recommend not getting the GF wrap and getting it on the greens . Perhaps you will get more meat and cheese. (P.s. I unwrapped my sandwich to double check and it was literally only one slice of cheese and two slices of meat. I had to try to spread the raspberry spread with my finger since I was given no silverware).
My husband ordered the Grilled Ruben. It was so greasy that the butter had already leached through the entire sandwich wrap and the brown bag! We were surprised to find that the Bakehouse has not given us one single napkin!!!!!!! This was a carry out order! We were from out of town and had always wanted to try this place and thought we would take this opportunity while driving though Troy. Now here we are in our car with this greasy sandwich with no napkins, and a greasy bag to eat it on! Thanks!
What a major disappointment, and a Major waste of our money!!!! Might be a great place to purchase baked goods but will never take the chance on...
Read moreI like the ambiance and the staff is always friendly, but dining-in leaves something to be desired. My last dining experience went like this: I ask if one of the soup offerings had dairy. The staff member said, "I don't know" and proceeded to stare at me waiting for me to order.
I asked if she could check. She did so promptly, but came back to say that the only person who would know is outside talking to a friend so basically we'll never know.
The other soup, chicken pot pie, safe to assume has a dairy base due to the nature of the dish, she seemed quite sure was dairy free. I felt skeptical, but my boyfriend ordered based on her information.
In an attempt to wrap up an already long post the soup came out - clearly a dairy soup, in fact a heavy cream based soup. Easy to see just by looking at it. The sandwich I ordered was dry and bland, the chips were stale, the tea lukewarm - making everything seem a bit lack luster as well as overpriced. My boyfriend was equally as pleased.
Reluctantly, I'll be back (not to eat or drink), but only...
Read moreThis is the first time having this food, it was provided by the company I work for as one of our "rewards" for being essential and coming to work every day through this Covid-19. We had no menu to see what each box was, other than the type of sandwich. I got the turkey and cheddar box, it came with an oatmeal raise cookie, what appeared to be pasta salad a small bag of ruffles chips, some fruit paste and the sandwich. Quite frankly it is quite bland, the pasta had the least flavor of all. The sandwich was on some type of berry bread, it wasn't bad but the flavor combo was not my favorite. I found the fruit paste to be absolutely horrible but that's just personal preference. The cookie was not baked all the way through and for an oatmeal raise I think it should have had more flavor. Now that I have had it once, it would not be a place I would order from if I was the one...
