Beautiful building and very clean! The first time I visited I was greeted by a wonderful woman MarryJane and she was lovely, I let her know I was getting information about taking some photos there that weekend and got all the information I needed, I show up the day of and was greeted again until I waited for my clients to show up, they showed up and my client had a service dog for heart issues, I confirmed with the staff that we would be allowed in as long as we held the dog the entire time and we did so, however we had 2-3 employees circling us the entire time, which I understood maybe they were worried about the dog making a mess? However I felt like if it was a problem we should have been told not to bring her inside. We located what rooms we were allowed to shoot in and I was fixing some blinds that were very low and needed a bit more light, after checking the rule sheet there was no nothing regarding adjusting blinds, one of the employees runs in and yells at me to stop and I did and explained I did not see that in the rules, so am I still in the wrong? We continue taking pictures with her watching over our shoulder, my clients were African and I have to wonder if that had something to do with how we were being treated this time, because the previous time was wonderful. Anyway we get done with our photos and go to leave and the front desk lady asks for my full name, I give it to her and ask why and she just smiles at me and shakes her head, maybe she did not hear me, maybe I am banned? I have no clue, so I left it at that. I would have loved to give a better review but the fact we were told it was ok to take pictures and were okay bringing in her service dog, I assumed a but more respect while I was working, instead it felt like a lot of passive aggressive comments and smirks, I kept asking if the dog was a problem we would be 100% okay leaving, I understand the fear of an accident happening to a historic building, but constantly being reassured that it was alright, I think it is a beautiful building and would love to have more events there, but not have myself and clients treated...
Read moreWow this place is such a gem! We attended their Valentine dinner and comedy show event and it by far exceeded our expectations. I made mention in the reservation that we were celebrating a ten year anniversary and the staff went above and beyond not only congratulating us but by also providing and having a signed card from the staff at our table. They made us feel so warm and welcome on our special evening out. The comedian Josh Sneed was very funny and a great choice to end the evening with. The catering company hired (starry dreams) provided top notch service all food was as described and delicious and the catering staff very attentive and friendly. Kudos to each and every member and volunteer who put this evening on from planning to the actual event. It was truly a wonderful night to remember and can't wait to see what other events they have to offer in the future....
Read moreIt’s a beautiful place and seems like a great place to have in the community. I just can’t recommend it as a venue to get married in. The “day of coordinator” and volunteer who were working on the day of my wedding were very unhelpful and unfriendly. Many things went wrong the day of my wedding and it’s not a day that holds pleasant memories for me, unfortunately, and the experience with the employees just made it that much more unpleasant of a day. I wish I could go back in time and just have it somewhere else. When I first found the Hayner center I had visions on visiting it for years with my husband and reminiscing on our wedding day but I can’t say that I will ever go back. Very...
