8-20-23 Update - Customer Rep sent us a gift card to try their food, and we will do so. I'm raising my rating of them to 4 stars at this point, as they did finally respond appropriately to a customer concern./////TRULY THE NEWEST UPDATE: At 4:45 today 8-3-23, the same customer rep called me again, and said I must not have heard her, as she did apologize for our experience before. She said that because MI didn't require masks of anyone in March of 2021, then that's why their employees wouldn't wear one, even to make a customer happy who requested that. We didn't eat anywhere when in MI March of 2021 where servers/counter help didn't wear masks, so even though the law said you didn't have to, other restaurants were able to "read the room", and still had their employees masked to make customers comfortable. The rep (the phone line crackled on this call so I don't know her name) offered to send me a discount voucher, so we'll see what happens with that. ////NEWEST update - 8-3-23 After the company responded to my review here on this site, asking me to contact them on 6-27-23, I immediately did so. Never heard back. Over one month later, today, I figured I'd give it one last shot. And unfortunately, we STILL will never try the food at Savvy Slider's. This person who handles reviews just started in July, so she didn't apologize for me never hearing back and just said it wasn't her fault. She then ALSO said that they can't do anything about something which happened two years ago. All I wanted was an apology, or an explanation of what Covid policy was during Covid, and instead I got nothing. And did they post their response on 6-27 just to look good to the public, like they are responsive and care about public opinion, and then just hope no one follows up? Seems like it. Shoddy business practices here, so no need to give them my business. ///UPDATE - After I posted review, mgt replied same day and asked me to contact them. I emailed as requested on June 27 and have heard nothing from them yet. /////Original post - We couldn't try their food as the staff refused to mask up during our visit during Covid. We were there soon after they opened for the day, we were the only customers, but upon their refusal to mask up, we left. Not sure we would ever try any location based on...
Read moreVisited this location last week. Wonderful staff. Manager, perhaps the owner, was wonderful too. We were greeted by him as soon as we walked in the establishment. Now, as far as the food goes, it's about a 3, and that's pretty much everything I tried. Everything is average besides the Sliders. I do give them big credit for the Sliders. They were actually pretty good. If I were giving grades based on only just the sliders and a pop, they'd get a 4, but I'm not. I tried their Fish Sandwich and their Chicken Tenders. I had their soda and milkshakes too. Pop was strong and not flat, great! Savy uses a regular self-serve pop machine . Not the multi use self-serve pop machines in places like 5 Guys. I hate those machines. Soda taste weird with those kind of machines. Milkshakes were very, very, soup like. Just really runny. Not thick at all. Wait until June. Shakes won't last outside for 3 minutes when made that way. The flavored Shakes that Savy serves are like McDonald's shamrock Shakes. The difference is McDonald's knows how much green mix to add to the shakes. The shakes had a little too much coloring which greatly overpowered the cream. I buy shakes for the good ice cream taste. Sometimes I like a little flavor in my shakes but nothing crazy overpowering. Too much food coloring here at Savy. Fish Sandwich, Not good, Not bad. Right in the middle. Fries were good too but nothing to write home about. The same goes for their Chicken Tenders & Fish Sandwiches. Both were just average tasting at best. No real seasoning for either one. No big taste! When you think of BK, McDonald's, Wendy's, White Castles, Checkers, etc etc. All those restaurants have a certain taste fir their products. That taste makes you say I could really go for a big Mac or a whopper or whatever. Nothing on the menu at Savy imo gives you that, that I've tried. The Sliders SLIGHTLY give you that. I love menu and the potential of this restaurant. Another plus tho. You don't feel that typical fast food feeling after eating, like you'd get at most fast food places. You'll feel full but not yucky inside an hr after eating. But the final verdict. I will not be returning back. They don't really do enough things well enough to say need...
Read moreIt’s been a year since I have been compelled to leave a bad review (only have 7 total reviews). I am sincerely hoping that I don’t get violently ill; explanation to follow. The guy (heavy set, chinstrap beard, a filthy shirt and fair colored hair)that waited on me had some of the worst energy I have encountered in a long time. This individual clearly did not want to be there, was incredibly miserable and completely unaware of self. In that he is in customer service, face-to-face with the lifeblood of the business. One of my two sliders was cod. I was mortified when I couldn’t bite through it, as the center was frozen. When I circled back to Mr. Sunshine, he explained that he did not make my sandwich. My response was what difference does that make. He continued by asking what he would like me to do about it. Consequently I asked for a refund and he complied. I’m really sorry that you had to work on a Sunday of a holiday weekend. I’ll call the wambulance. So did I BTW. A person with zero people skills, should not work with other people; he should work in a lab or in IT. I blame management/owners. This as a year ago the same place had decent service and very good food. Now this place is akin to the Holocaust....
