I had booked two joined rooms for a two-night stay (four total room-nights). We traveled over five hours to metro Detroit to watch Tigers baseball and chose to stay at this hotel due to location, photos, and I was told by staff several times the pool and hot tub were working fine. I feel a bit lied to. I had called the hotel three different times before my stay to ensure my reservation needs were achievable. Each call I had asked if the pool and hot tub were working for my young niece, including the morning of our arrival. Each time I was assured all was good. When I arrived, I was told the hot tub was down, but the pool was working. I let my niece go into the pool, and noticed the pool heat was down. I had also seen there were globs of hair and dead bugs on the pool surface indicating the filter was also down. As we were staying here for two nights, and I made a big promise to the niece on their word about swimming, this was an incredibly massive let down. The paper out of order sign on the door appeared to have been there for much much longer than just a day, which tells me as I had called to confirm the pool was working…it actually was not. The staff was kind enough to offer us free breakfast for the stay. In my mom and niece’s room an open potato chip bag was found under one of the beds. In the dining area the day of our departure the ceiling leaked water on me and all over the floor. The purchased breakfast buffet was about the same that you would get for free from a Hampton Inn. The only things I can say positive is the staff was very kind, and the building appeared modern.

For $165 a night (plus pet fee) you’d at least expect free breakfast. Upon check in, the desk agent was a trainee. Understandable—but the trainer wasn’t much more knowledgeable and it took forever. The room was ok—but worn and tired. Pros: great location and relatively quiet. Nice to have a restaurant and bar on site, though the service (even though the restaurant was quiet) was slow. Cons: My husband nearly face planted when his pjs caught on an L brace that stuck up from the mattress. The soaps and shampoo in our shower were completely empty—and since they’re affixed to the wall, you couldn’t unscrew the pump to get anything out. Then when we went to the desk for more, it took forever to get help AND the hotel was completely out of body wash. Not a huge deal…really?!? Finally—the $18 breakfast was substandard. Runny eggs, sausage that was more like a hot dog, no silverware other than plastic sporks. Not to mention servers whose work effort was focused on dropping checks off at the table (with suggestions for tips) even though no service was provided.

My experience was horrible at this hotel, the worst Hilton experience ever! First the front desk person did not know how to check us in and made us wait an extra 5 minutes while she figured it out. I was staying there for a funeral along with the rest of my family, they have a restaurant so all of us ate there after. We had called ahead and let them know the size of our party which was large but we still ended up waiting over an hour for our food because there was only one waiter serving us and the bar and two people working in the kitchen. Our room was nice but the curtain was operated by a remote system. The problem was the remote didn’t work. So the bright light of the parking lot was keeping my room lit. I tried calling the front desk but the lady had no idea what I was talking about, then proceeded to put me on hold for around 5 minute where I got to listen to the robo voice tell me how “high tech” there room were. It really sucked and the solution ended up being hanging a sheet on the window to block out some of the light.

If I could give the hotel a lower rating I would as I had 2 problems at this hotel. I stayed at this hotel the night of July 19, 2025.

First problem: My wife had made the reservation for me and paid for the room using our credit card loyalty points. We have used the credit card (Chase Bank) loyalty points to pay for other hotel rooms including internationally and never had any issues. When I checked in at this hotel, the front desk clerk informed me that while they did have my reservation, the room was not paid for and I would have to pay for the room with a credit card. I tried to protest, but she said that the hotel had not been paid with my loyalty credit card points, and I would have to charge the room fees to a credit card, even though I showed her the confirmation email stating the room HAD been paid for. Since I had limited time to get to the event I was attending, I went ahead and paid for the room and decided I would take up the issue with my credit card company. After I returned home, my credit card company did refund my loyalty points, but this required effort and time on my part, and luckily my credit card company cooperated, since they could clearly see that I had paid twice for the same room (once with the loyalty points and a 2nd time with a charge on my credit card). My impression is that the hotel was fine with charging me twice for the same room.

Second problem: When I get to any hotel room, the first thing I do is to check the mattress to make sure the bed/room is not infested with bed bugs. This is easy to do by pulling back the bottom sheets and looking for stains on the mattress (google bed bug stains on a mattress). While I rarely find issues, I always do this to prevent bringing home bed bugs in my suitcase. At this hotel, while I did not see indications of bed bugs, the matress had a HUGE blood stain on it. The stain was so large, it was like someone had bled to death on the matress. I immediately took my suitcase back to my car and went to the front desk to complain. The front desk person was friendly and offered a different room (which I took and ended up being fine with a clean mattress) but the expaination was hard to accept. She said that the hotel was under new management, and that the only way the new management knew which matresses needed repacement was if guests like me informed them. I did not comment on her explaination, but this is a rediculous excuse, because any housekeeper/maid could inform management of a mattress issue after cleaning a room. So either this company has maids that don't inform management of these issues (doubtful) or management does not care to act on the issues.

Net result - because of these issues I was late for my event, and had to take my own actions to not get charged twice for the room and have a clean bed to sleep in. I will...

We just stayed here in Nov 2024. We liked it but it seems this time around things were somewhat different. First off the lady checkin us in, although seemed very sweet, spoke very broken english. Hard to understand. I asked about an upgrade and was told there were none. however seemed to be some on the app that show available for suites. Went to do laundry and they had a roll of quarters. I needed two. I had to combine my loads to have enough for laundry. If you are gonna have guest laundry and advertise for it. Please install a change machine or machines that have the app. This is very frustrating. also to add they had no dryer sheets. Although she came to me later that night while i was picking up food to give me laundry sheets. i was already done. I made a order over the phone with the resturant. Now mind you we liked this resturant the last visit. when i arrived to pick up my order, i had to again say how i wanted my hamburger. A pad and paper might solve that issue. Checking out Eyana had no clue how to do her job. There was an issue with my receipt she had no clue how to fix it. i got the deer in headlights look and i will have to manager contact you. I did not receive my credits for food and beverage. she said i chose points over F/B credits. i never do this. I choose points over snacks, and apparently i didn't understand the lady at check in. So I was jipped out of my F/B for two days. this does not make me happy. We stay at Hilton Brand 99% of the time, we have never had a hotel offer points over f/b credits. I even checked the app and it is marked for f/b credits. We will most probley not stay here again. Although it is convenient the headache isn't worth it. The hair dryer was probably the best part of the room. The resturant is not open on Sunday at all.

Breakfast goes til 10, I went down 3 mins til and they had been cleaning it up. I looked at my watches and asking and although they did make my bacon. I had to grab what i could from the cart.

over all i can't stay this stay was a 5 star. I would have to say a 3 star at the...

I booked a room at this Hilton for my little one’s birthday. The reason I booked this room was because it has amazing reviews & I looked up specifically about the pool which everyone loves.

The room was ok, it’s smaller than the norm but it looked clean. There was a dead fly on the window so I just closed it so my youngest wouldn’t get to it. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work, the bathroom had a sliding door where the stopper was exposed which is a risk, if you step on that you could get hurt. The main reason why I booked it was for the pool.

The pool was just a mess, there was a huge group there, the kids had no supervision as they were diving in with no regards of who was around them. The whole pool room was just a huge puddle, once it became clear my little one was going to get hurt we left. Mark basically said there’s signs on the wall and people should adhere to them however, there is no one checking to make sure anyone is & anyone can go in and out as long as people are letting them in.

We were ready to pack up and leave and Mark said we would not get our money back because we “dirtied the room”. He supposedly spoke to his GM and offered a free night if we returned. We chose to make the best of the night for our daughter and accept the free night. We called back down and Mark had left for the night. Stella assumed we were calling to get our refund since she said if we left that’s what would’ve happened. She also assured me the free night would be taken care of when I checked out, when I checked out the person in the front had no idea what I was talking about.

I would not recommend staying here, it’s not cheap, they’re disorganized, and apparently customer service is not their thing. There are nicer hotels in the area, I would’ve paid more to have a better night for my...
