I recently stayed at Sonesta Simply Suites Detroit Troy, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always ready to offer assistance, which made my stay stress-free. The suite itself was spacious, clean, and had everything I needed. The kitchen area was fully equipped, which allowed me to prepare my meals and feel more at home. The room also had a cozy vibe, with modern furnishings and a comfortable bed that made it easy to relax after a long day. One of the best parts of my stay was the convenience. The location is excellent, with quick access to nearby shopping, dining, and attractions in Troy and Detroit. And for longer stays, having amenities like a laundry room and gym made a huge difference. If you're looking for a comfortable, well-located place to stay in the Detroit area, I highly recommend Sonesta Simply Suites Detroit Troy. It's perfect for anyone looking for a clean, quiet, and well-managed place to unwind.

#1, there's nothing more disgusting that I have encountered in my entire life than having to pay for parking at a hotel. Especially having to register for their rewards program to get out of it. Screw off. Some of the staff were good but some of the other staff had attitudes... If you don't like your job then quit, no one is holding a gun to your head but yourself. Attention to detail at a hotel is everything... Some things were dirty that shouldn't be IMO - feel free to refer to my pictures. The pillows are great if you're an oompa loompa but when I asked for more, you say you'll have them later, and then I go to get them to where you don't have it... Quite the letdown. Only as a last resort will I ever stay at a place like this.

In ordinary circumstances I can see why this would be an acceptable place to stay with two primary exceptions. The first exception is the staff's and management's poor exception handling during a power outage. The second is the enormous crater in the driveway, it's hard to see in the rain and I was afraid I'd bent a rim or suspension components. ||Oh, one more thing, there's a $5.00/day parking charge that I wasn't aware of that's in addition to your room rate.||The room itself is consistent with and older budget property. It's nice that there are tables on each side of the bed, there are AC outlets. It's not modern enough to offer USB charging ports. The TV has HD channels and there's a real workstation chair. The kitchenette is also nice to have though this turned out to be mostly moot during my stay. Overall, good enough for a budget stay.||Now, here's where the problems manifested. The night of my stay there were severe weather warnings and heavy rain. The room had power when I turned in but I woke up to a room with no power. This means no alarm clock, no lights, no AC, etc. There was enough light through my South facing window to move about the room and pack my things but that was about it.||Problems associated with no power include:|- I wasn't sure I gathered all of my belongings.|- There's no light in the bathroom making showering a significant challenge and I declined to undertake it.|- Try shaving in the dark. I did and did a poor but serviceable job|- If you have business to do in the bathroom for which a fan is helpful forget it. Know that you'll be in total darkness unless you want to leave the bathroom door open.|- No coffee.|- Better hope the refrigerator stay cold enough.||I checked out shortly after rising as there was little point to blundering around in the gloom. Thankfully the door locks are battery operated so you can get in and out of your room. Oh, by the way, the elevator is out of service.||I mentioned the obvious lack of power to the desk when checking out and asked for an adjustment. I was told that it was the local power utility and beyond the control of the hotel. Therefore that I was unable to shower or use some of the basic/fundamental aspects of having rented a room is not their problem i.e., too bad for you.||I sent feedback to Sonesta via their website and got an acknowledgement within 48-hours with a note that my concern has been shared with management. It's now over a week and no further contact has been received.||With this experience I expect I'm ONE and DONE with Sonesta. My points are mostly with Marriott and Bonvoy and should be easily find alternatives. I've included photos feel free to have a...

This place sucks it's the worst hotel I've ever stayed in they gave my room key to a wrong guest and they opened our room and went in there then our handle on our door was broken probably from the guy trying to get in there and they told us they could not do anything about that and there were sorry staff is so rude we spent thousands of dollars there and I found that they took a double payment offer my card at one time I showed they told me to give them proof I showed them right away and the manager continued to tell me that that's not right she looked at her employees and give us a minute we went into another room to talk she yelled treated us bad told us that we are not allowed to complain and that I need to stop moments later I called my credit card company 10 separate times got the money refunded to me then went down showed the manager still didn't get an apology no free night no nothing even after telling the district manager all we got and continuously got for problems like these was sorry sorry sorry what does sorry get me then another employee that works nights there wood stay in one of the hotel rooms with her boyfriend and not come up to the front for up to 30 minutes as people are waiting oh and I cannot forget the day that my father died I take my dog outside and the maintenance man ran after me followed me outside and said you have already been told plenty of times that your dog cannot go to the bathroom right here I replied what are you talking about this is the first I've heard of this and he said there's a dog walk it was 10 feet away I looked at him as I should never be approached or reprimanded buy a maintenance man so I spoke with my husband telling him about this we spoke with the new manager and nothing came about it I guess for wanting to not be bothered and relax at a hotel that is supposed to be upper-scale and nice we were always give shown nothing but rude and mean this never go to this place constant problems lies and people that treat people horrible they do not know how to run a hotel for instance last thing there's this one lady that works there and I've seen her speaking with people that she believes don't speak English very well and laugh at them roll her eyes be rude say cuss words and treat them badly but still she has her job even though she has hair and the yarn and her hair all over towels and even after a Japanese man's interpreter complained about nothing came about it don't go here you will not have a good stay they are very two-faced I beg you to keep all of this in...

This is a horrible location to stay at. On my check out date I returned to my room in order to get my things and check out. Check out isn't until 11 am, I arrived at 10:20 am. When I got to my room, my bed and stripped and sheets, comforter, and pillows were removed from the bed with my things still opened in the room. I asked for a manager Cailey L and she told me she knew their housekeeping staff was in the room around 9:50 am or so and that she told them to leave the room. She then told me I didn't have to be so upset because nothing was aken from the room. I had personal belongs; underwear, personal documents such as my ssc, etc in the room which easily could have been taken by a photo. She then offered me a full refund for my stay and stated to call the third party for the refund, which I did. The third party told me to call the police and file a report in order to receive my refund for my stay. I plan on doing so anyway, but had to in order to receive my money. The police gave me a report number and I went on my way. Cailey called the police on me for not leaving the building by 11 am, when I obviously couldn't leave because I was waiting on the police. This was on the February 14th, 2024 and today is February 23rd, 2023 and sonesta suites manager still is telling the third party not to refund me my money although I have the whole conversation and police conversation on record for my documentation. This woman allowed her staff to enter my room prior to checkout time while my things were still in the room and don't care. I wouldn't recommend staying here because they don't care about the people who stay with them and go through their rooms when the guest...
