The Diamond Vault of Troy (DVT) is absolutely amazing. When I began my search for an engagement ring I asked someone who had recently gone through the process and he introduced me to DVT. He said that they had great reviews online and that he personally knew someone that raved about the tremendous service and quality. I’m the type of person that has to research everything I buy so obviously with an engagement ring being a big ticket item I stepped it up a notch. I read every single review online and could not believe that every single review had nothing but good things to say. Even with the outstanding reviews I still entered my first appointment with DVT a bit skeptical. However, this would immediately change! My appointment was with Peter-John and he quickly put me at ease. He began the appointment by asking about my girlfriend as he wanted to learn as much about her since he would be creating an engagement ring for her. My girlfriend is a teacher and she mentioned that she was afraid that she might accidentally scratch one of her students if the diamond stuck out too much. I shared this information with Peter-John and he made sure that the ring would be as safe possible. Peter-John walked me through all the different aspects of diamonds and I was pleasantly surprised to hear the same things that I had found during my personal research. He was extremely knowledgeable and I'm so happy I was able to work with him. He asked what my budget was for the total ring and throughout the entire process did not show me anything that would exceed it. I really respected this approach because I felt comfortable the entire time. He never tried to upsell me and get me to buy a better color or larger diamond. My girlfriend wanted a princess cut, but I was worried that it would not have the same brilliance as an ideal round cut diamond. Luckily, Peter-John introduced me to FireMark. FireMark diamonds are unbelievable. I would highly recommend checking one out even if you are set on a round cut. Once we went over what type of diamond and setting I was looking for he introduced me to Rachel, the designer. We discussed different designs and what I liked and didn’t like. I loved working with Rachel. She is simply phenomenal at what she does. I had tons of questions for her and she was extremely helpful and answered every one of them. I changed or altered my design at least 5 times over the course of a few weeks and she would quickly make the desired changes and send me a picture of what it would look like. The finished engagement ring is stunning! I enjoyed the entire process with DVT, which in my opinion says a lot being as the purchase of an engagement ring can be very stressful. Everyone was always so nice and understanding. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for jewelry to stop by DVT. You will not be disappointed! Thank you Peter-John, Rachel, Randy, and the rest of...
Read moreI went to Diamond Vault of Troy to pick out an engagement ring for my fiance.
It's important to note that I don't write reviews unless I feel the feedback is warranted. It's also important to note that I am extremely nervous making "big" purchases. I spent a couple weeks looking at rings online at multiple vendors (Jared, K, Zales, etc.) and figuring out everything that goes into a diamond (I probably read more articles/blogs then I care to admit about engagement rings/wedding rings).
I did not make an appointment (highly recommend you do) and walked in after I left work. I had a hard budget set and had an idea in my mind of what I wanted. I ended up getting my time split between two people, Peter-John and Tim, due to my lack of an appointment (again, highly recommend it). Peter-John, in 15 minutes, explained everything I had previously researched and allowed me to visually see what I had learned reading. In addition, it made me completely change what I expected out of this ring and made me prioritize aspects I had overlooked (the diamond vs the band style vs the size).
Information aside, Peter-John showed me the different diamonds first (all within my budget AFTER including the cost of a band). He then helped me narrow the field by removing the diamonds that did not make sense to purchase when compared to the other diamonds. He did NOT push the most expensive diamond. Instead, he allowed me to make the final say on a relatively simple, standard engagement ring with an emphasis on the diamond's sparkle. My decision meant I did not spend my budgeted amount, but ended up saving a significant amount of money, which is important as my fiance and I are trying to pay for our wedding (less then a year away) ourselves.
A week later, I picked up the ring from Tim and was immediately satisfied with my purchase. When I finally did propose and put the ring on her finger, my fiance was ecstatic. She still, a month later, hasn't stopped staring at it. Everyone who sees it compliments both of us on its looks. Some people believe she picked it out herself or had my mom go with me to pick it out because she loves it that much and it looks that good. It's worth mentioning that I did not let anyone, especially my fiance, provide much input in my shopping. She looks good, which makes her happy, which makes me very happy. Thank you, Peter-John and Tim, for that.
Guys, I highly recommend going to Diamond Vault. They will explain what you need to look for, provide you the options based on the criteria YOU come up with (especially important), and will not pressure you to make a decision.
Ladies, if your man hasn't decided where he wants to go. Send him to Diamond Vault. For all the reasons...
Read moreShopping at the Diamond Vault of Troy for my fiancée’s engagement ring was one of the best purchasing experiences of my life. After scheduling an appointment for the late afternoon, I found myself stuck in border and rush hour traffic as I was coming from Windsor Ontario. I was unable to make my appointment and upon notifying DVT, Randy, the owner, stayed after hours and waited for me to get there. Without this gesture, I would not have received the ring by the day I wanted it.
Upon arriving at the DVT, I was greeted by Liz, one of Randy’s friendly employees, who promptly offered me a beverage while I waited. Randy then took my through a comprehensive 45 minute lesson on diamonds and the diamond purchasing process. As the DVT was the last jeweler I went to, I had done a fair bit of research, but after speaking with Randy, I felt even more informed and comfortable with moving forward with the purchase.
After telling Randy what my budget was and letting him know what I was looking for, we began to look at some of the stones he had in his inventory. After realizing that he did not have what I was looking for, he immediately set out to locate the perfect stone. Within 36 hours, he notified me about several stones that he had sourced and he was able to bring one in within a few days. During this time, Randy promptly responded to every email question I had regarding the stone and the setting.
When I returned to the DVT a week later to view the stone, it was everything Randy had promised and more. The next step was getting it all put together in the next six days. After making some small adjustments to the band and claw, Randy assured me that it would be ready for me within the week. When I arrived the following week to pick up the finished ring, I was overwhelmed at how beautiful it turned out to be. It was perfect. My fiancée and everyone who has seen it thinks it is absolutely stunning.
I spent several months searching for the right jeweler, one that could custom create exactly what I was looking for. After visiting several jewelers in Ontario Canada and Michigan, no one was able to match the quality, value, hospitality, and confidence that I received with my decision to purchase from the Diamond Vault of Troy. Randy and his staff excel at making the experience for Canadian customers as painless and convenient as possible. There is no doubt that I will be a customer of the DVT for a long time to come. Thanks...
