Background info: We came as a large group of families. For some reason one waitress decided we were all to be hers.
Let me start out by saying what was good and went well: I did not get food poisoning and the friends we ate with were great!
Now for the opposite side of the coin: After getting our menus we were asked for our drink orders. We waited for more than 30 minutes to get our orders of ice water. In the meantime, another server had âstolenâ a few of our waitressâ tables and we noticed that these tables in our group already had their meals and we hadnât even ordered ours yet!
The tossed salads that we received eventually looked as if one salad had been divided between four and that they had run out of the ranch dressing we had ordered, so someone mixed some milk with what was left in the bottle to drown our poor leaves of lettuce. But before we could eat this âsaladâ, I had to get up and find a server that could give us enough silverware for our table.
I had hope that the breadsticks and pizza would save the day. Nope. 1/2 of the basket of breadsticks were overdone and had the feel of day-old bread. A poorly done âHot and Readyâ pizza has more cheese and toppings then the pizza we received.
Our pizza was probably an anomaly though. The other pizzas that were served to other (stolen) tables did look like the NY pizzas I grew up with in that state and was so hoping to enjoy once again.
We didnât bring any of these things up to our waitress because she rarely came around, nor could I find her anywhere in the restaurant. She never brought us more water or checked how we were doing. We had been there so long and waited so long that I didnât want to stretch out the ordeal for me or the guests with me while someone attempted to rectify the situation. Close to 3 hours is long enough. By the time the check came for our glasses of water, 4 mangled salads, brittle breadsticks, and NY pizza that NY wouldnât claim ever, I was done.
Judging by the other reviews, my experience may have been unique. We wonât be back, but hopefully this review helps the restaurant management with quality control with food,...
Read moreWent in for takeout, but now I'm a fan!
Due to my diet, certain foods are rare "treats", but I had a major desire for several weeks for some good spaghetti. I wanted "Good" spaghetti, not some greasy spoons can-like version of it, nor did I want to spend $20 on a higher quality Italian joint that was more for the tablecloths then the food; similarly I do like going out or at least getting take-out when I have other appetites since I cook most meals myself at home. I relied on my fellow guides ratings and decided to give this place a try.
The sauce was excellent. Not too sweet, not too runny, not globby, just right in both quantity and quality. If the pasta itself isn't home-made, it's so good you can't tell and was quite stomach pleasing. I hadn't expected the number of breadsticks I got to go, and they were amazing, again, if it's not home made dough, it's something that easily passes for it and that great in between crispy and soft bread.
The closest thing I have to a complaint, and this is me stretching, is that I got the Spaghetti with Meatball, and for my own tastes, I wouldn't have minded if the meatball had a little more cooking time. It wasn't raw or anything, but I prefer them to be a little more cooked. Though again, this is a very minor nit (and in all likelihood, the next time I crave spaghetti, I'll just be getting meat sauce anyway).
Friendly service, a location that even at night was easy enough to get in and out out, and a fair price for a great quantity and quality of food. I'm glad I gave them a try,...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars it would be more accurate I have never had such horrible service I walked in to pick an order up and [Michelle] instantly gets completely snotty telling me they just got my order I told her my order was supposed to be ready in 5 minutes so she started yelling at me me and called me a jerk so I walked outside and waited when I went back in she was laughing and telling her manager exactly what was said I simply tried to explain to her that she was not professional and shouldn't treat customers that way and she again screamed at the top of her lungs she's been there 17 years and she will treat anyone how she wants then I asked for the manager and she said he's right here and if I don't leave she's going to make a complaint about me. I've been in the restaurant business for over 30 years and have never seen anything like it a very rude person yells at a customer in front of her manager and he does absolutely nothing. I would love to speak to the owner of this establishment about the very poor and unprofessional behavior of [MICHELLE] and also the neglect from the manager to even try to intervene on this whole situation if he's not there for the customer and would not even attempt to (manage) how his employee was treating a customer then in my opinion he's not much of a manager and is just as guilty of horrible and rude service as...
