Henrietta's Deli — Restaurant in Trussville

Gave Hentrettias a shot today. With a gourmet chef I was expecting table side service but had to order at the counter. No big deal the lady's at the counter were nice. Got two sandwiches the meats and the prime beef sandwich, a small amount of chips and two drinks were $47 which is kind of shocking for a counter service sandwich shop. The sandwiches weren't awful but they weren't anything to write home about. The Meats sandwiches had three HUGE Chunks of mozzarella on it and were cold not melted and I would say there was more mozzarella than meat. The prime beef sandwich was okay but all I could taste was the horseradish and there really wasn't that much meat on it. I gave three stars and not one or two because maybe they are still working out the kinks even though they've been open a few weeks now. First trip to Henriettas. I had been looking forward to trying as I love a good sandwich. I tried the BLFGT. There was plenty of perfectly cooked THICK SLICED bacon, lots of mayo on thick sliced toasted bread. The fried green tomato had no sour or tartness I generally expect from a green tomato and was battered in thin smooth type batter. I noticed in a picture from another customer's review of the BLFGT that it also had red tomato which I didn't receive on my sandwich. The sandwich was large and looked lovely-i hate i didnt snap a picture. Over all the sandwich needed salt somehow despite the loads of bacon. Chips were nice and crispy and lightly golden but again maybe tad more salt. Everything seemed high quality but somehow it didn't all come...

It doesn’t live up to the hype in my opinion. First of all, it was way overpriced. I had the prime steak sandwich, which she said was their most popular sandwich. I guess they wanted it to be like prime rib. The meat was VERY rare and ice cold. (Not my cup of tea.) I ate some of my husband’s Reuben and it was ok, just ok. Neither sandwich had a lot of meat. The homemade chips were good. But I wish I’d just gotten a salad. Definitely not worth almost $40! As far as atmosphere, it was extremely hot in the restaurant.
