The food was EXCELLENT. i ordered whiting, collards, candied yams and sweet potato pie.

Everything was made from scratch. You can definitely tell. The yams were bursting with flavor and you can taste every ingredient in a balanced way. Not one spice is overpowered like most candied yams that are way too sweet. The yam itself was also cooked until tender. Its not over or undercooked, its just right.

The whiting surprised me. The whiting was cooked PERFECTLY. It flakes apart like it was pan seared even though its breaded and fried. It wasnt oily and hard like most soul food places and the flavor was good. The breading was not over done at all either even down to the ends. Only thing you could do to improve is add some more salt or seasoning to it. Its a 9/10 but with some more flavor its def a 10 for sure.

The pie again, was amazing. Perfectly cooked and FRESH. It tastes like you went to somebodys house ate it right out the oven.

This in all honesty is how soul food should taste. Ive been dissappointed time and time again by soul food places that cant cook at all or just have no consistency on how anything is made. Wow! Is an understatement for this soul food cooking! First and foremost after looking in the website for a soul food joint we found you, and looking thru the site we saw you had fried fish, yams, collards and fried chicken and waffles so we had to venture out and try you! After finding your location we went in to order to be approached by a kiosk which that was ok, but when going through the menu , you didn’t have any yams on there even though your site listed them. So I ordered 4 wings and Mac n cheese bc of the previous reviews I had seen! After biting into the mac n cheese, my mouth fell flat bc that tasted like a bland piece of card board, with a hard cheddar and no season or salt or anything! And I bit into chicken and it was hilarious bc if that’s your best, I’m sorry it doesn’t do it for me! It tasted like old grease and it had been sitting under a heat light , sorry but that’s the taste it left in my mouth! First time trying this establishment. You place your food order on a kiosk. Very straightforward and easy to use kiosk. The amount of food I received for the price I paid was absolutely reasonable. I ordered a 2pc whiting/2pc fried whole wings with collard greens and potato salad. Good sized whiting and wings. I wish the kiosk had an option for “fried hard” or crispy for the chicken and fish, as the whiting had skin. The potato salad was great. The greens were okay. I didn’t taste the love in the greens. My coworker gave me a cornbread muffin of hers. It was jiffy for sure and dry. As a Georgian, jiffy does not meet the criteria of true soul food. This may seem petty but please offer better quality hot sauce. Something more like franks red hot or Louisiana hot sauce. The hot sauce packets they have are watered down. My coworkers raved of the mac n cheese. Although nothing knocked my socks off, the fish and chicken were very freshly fried tasting.
